It had decent reviews, but it was actually disappointing. It was our first time here. Our server was also the bartender, so I don’t feel we got the best customer service, as she was super busy bartending (Saturday brunch). The food seemed lacking in flavor…no seasoning, no love. It was lackluster at best, so I doubt we’ll be back, there’s too many other places around with tastier food and better service.

Came in right before they closed (apprx 1935) at 2000 however we were immediately seated, our order taken and the food was hot and fresh. All this was done within 10min. Our waitress was super nice and very assuring that there was absolutely no issue with the time.

We had about a five minute wait time when we arrived. My daughter and I had the breakfast plate while my husband had chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Despite it being very busy, the food was piping hot and delicious. I can’t wait to go back to try their other dishes!

Going out to eat with a Toddler is kind of stressful. It’s hard for them to sit in one place for an extended period of time and mom rarely gets to eat her food. I went to Metro Diner today and Jermaine was our server and what a breath of fresh air. Kindness is hard to find now a days, but we found it in Jermaine. The kindness would have been enough for me, but Jermaine also was knowledgeable about the menu and showed great efficiency. We received our food quickly, our drinks were always full and the check was delivered promptly. In addition to the great service provided, the food was amazing. I got the club and it was delicious and HUGE. I could only finish one of the four sections. I did eat all my seasoned fries though . They were tasty. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich and he said it was very good. It certainly looked it. Thank you Jermaine for providing this mama a wonderful dining experience, it’s certainly been a while.

If you’re a fan of Guy Fieri and Triple D, you’ll know that when he puts his stamp of approval on a restaurant, it usually becomes famous. This is the case with Metro. It has now grown to probably 20 locations in Florida. This one in the villages is large and busy. The food is hearty and service is good. I had shrimp and grits and I’m a little torn about what to say. I’ve had about 15-20 versions of this dish around the country and this is totally different. Two deep fried cakes of grits, very crunchy on the outside, and covered with southern white gravy, chives, bacon and shrimp. If you’re a traditionalist looking for some version of loose grits with any number of toppings depending on the cook and region, you’re gonna be as perplexed as I was. Everything else that my group had was good tasting comfort food and I was the only one who didn’t lick my plate clean. That’s rare for me. I won’t say it was bad, but it wasn’t what I expected and the white gravy stiffened up, as it tends to do, and the grit cakes were dry. Not my cup of tea, but the place is definitely worth eating at.

Overall, fantastic experience. Service was pleasant prompt. Food was actually really delicious and exceeded my expectations. I had chicken and waffles and there was a whole half of chicken and plenty of waffles. Chicken was perfectly cooked nice and juicy inside and great crunchy outside. We will be back.

The food was excellent, the service was outstanding. With the way the labor pool is now, I was extremely impressed with our server Jermaine. He brings faith and joy back to customer service and lends hope that not all is lost and there are still those out there that truly care and have a great work ethic. He needs to be recognized and appreciated. I dont live in the Villages, but the food and service was worth the drive.

I went here yesterday with my momma and the food was great. We had a really nice time. I ate the chicken and waffles. That strawberry butter is finger lickin’. We ordered a pineapple upside down drink they advertised, and although it was tasty, mine really only tasted like an orange mix. There were some ladies right next to us who were obnoxiously loud, and the server took a long time before she finally introduced herself to us. By then, we’d already knew what we wanted to drink and eat. Overall, we might go again.
