I made a reservation for Friday at 5 p.m. The place is very spacious, but from the outside it doesn’t look like it. There’s parking right next to it. Our waiter was super kind, and the service overall was very friendly. The drinks were excellent and very well made. The menu has good options, and the food was delicious. They serve complimentary bread with jalapeño butter.
We got the provolone with tomato (it would be great if they served it with flour tortillas), the churrasco with asparagus and a kind of chimichurri, the gnocchi with shrimp as the dish of the day, and for dessert the chocolate soufflé. To drink, we had an Argentine red wine and a Manhattan. I highly recommend this place!

This is the best steak I’ve had in over 10 years. When you think of tender and well marinated steak, this place is top notch. I’m a very picky eater and they basically passed my taste test with flying colors ❤️

Came here for a solo steak dinner. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The empanada was good enough with the surprisingly delicious tomato salsa. The ribeye was so juicy and tender with a nice charred flavor. The steak was also cooked perfectly for medium rare. As for the drinks, the Pinot Noir is a nice selection. The champagne was just mediocre. Overall, a highly rated steakhouse in town. Way to go!

Quiet, classy atmosphere and over all a beautiful restaurant. Drinks were good, but the steak was well below what I would expect from a steakhouse. Quite plain. I hadn’t been there for a while, and I remembered having a great steak there several years ago. Both of my guests agreed that it was not a very good steak. One of us got the skirt steak, another the filet and the other the cowboy ribeye.

Fantastic in every way. Steaks and sides were awesome. Get the house special with their special sauce–it’ll make you hate ever having steak without it again. Even the bread and butter is an elevated experience. Service was great too but the bar is a touch slow. 10/10 recommend

I’ve been a fan of metro 8 since it was located on 9th street. We celebrated our wedding rehearsal dinner there in 2009, and have had numerous other work-related events there. My wife and I had dinner here a few weeks ago for the first time in a while. Since moving to Wake Forest, we just don’t get to Durham very often. It did not disappoint, The lamb chops are still perfection. The provoleta great as we remembered, and always a good wine selection. Frank and Cassie are awesome as well! You have to give it a try.

Dee guided us with great suggestions on the wine and dinner menu. Super prompt with service and made us and our guest feel special. We started with a couple drinks, Cesar and house salad. Cesar salad was huge, good for 2. Hanger steak, filet mignon and homemade fettuccine for dinner – everything was good and gone. Chocolate torte and souffle for dinner with port and b52 to bow on a beautiful dinner. We’ll definitely be back. Dee, Karissa, and the staff made our evening memorable.

WOW! Took my 15 year old son out for his birthday and it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is gorgeous! The staff is 6 star friendly, helpful and kind. The food… The food is incredible! Metro 8 is a steakhouse with a more than steak menu. Everything we ordered was great! This is certainly our go to formal restaurant.

We had an amazing experience. We made reservations prior and were able to avoid any wait time. We had asked for a secluded table when we made reservations, and they were able to accommodate our request. We had a great table which happened to be next to their beautiful Christmas tree, which added a nice magical touch to our experience. We had the provoleta and chorizo for our appetizer and both were delicious. My husband had the cowboy ribeye and said it was the best he has had. So tender and juicy and seasoned perfectly. I had their popular Churrasco steak, and it was equally amazing. Their sides are a little basic but still very tasty. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the food. The service was great, and the whole staff works together to take care of you. It was refreshing to see. We would definitely make our way back.
