This was my first time trying Georgian food. We had a very sweet girl who was our waitress but it didn’t seem like she understood everything we were saying so there was some miscommunication with our order.

We tried various dishes that we shared between 4 people. Highly recommend the Chicken and potato dish. It came with a spicy sauce that was great.

Next time, we will do our research on what to order so we can try other dishes!

Absolutely delicious. This is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants. Fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes and very friendly staff. The honey cake for dessert was the best I’ve had!

The food was flavorful with beautiful presentation. Proportions were generous. My favorite was the lentil soup! The atmosphere had a home like feel, a bit like a step back in time, the best way. It was warm and inviting all around and we can’t wait to go back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Metekhi restaurant, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that immediately made me feel at home.

The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor and authenticity. The khachapuri – that iconic cheese-filled bread – was perfectly baked with a golden crust and gooey, rich cheese that you could stretch for miles. I also tried the khinkali, and each dumpling was tender, juicy, and packed with deliciously seasoned meat. You could tell everything was made fresh, with care and tradition in every bite.

Service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server took time to explain each dish and make recommendations based on our preferences.

Whether you’re already a fan of Georgian food or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both heartwarming hospitality and such a high level of culinary authenticity.

Can’t wait to return!

Food was very tasty
But prices seem high for the location (located in a tiny strip mall) Also I think prices were high enough and should include side dish with the main course.
Other than that this place is lovely! just needs to add bit of love!

Chicago doesn’t have many options when it comes to Georgian fare. Before Metekhi opened,
I could only think of two Georgian restaurants and they were both a bit of a trek. I’m glad to have a solid Georgian restaurant nearby now. The khachapuri was a huge, gooey, bread-and-cheese heaven. The khinkali, though a tad undercooked, were juicy and flavorful with a mushroom filling that was easily as good than the meat. Beef chashushuli was rich, hearty, and loaded with tender beef. Food was a bit slow but service was fantastic and kept us informed of the pacing.

I absolutely adore Georgian cuisine! I’ve been fortunate enough to dine at numerous Georgian restaurants, but this was my first experience in America. The food was simply divine, and I couldn’t stop praising the chefs. The restaurant is brand-new, clean, and beautifully designed, evoking the ambiance of a fancy establishment. However, I must admit that I was a tad disappointed with the service. When we ordered a bottle of Georgian wine, it arrived already opened in the kitchen. The water wasn’t refilled as it should have been, and we had to ask several times for it to be refilled. Additionally, the waiter or owner who was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt, arrived only at the end to refill the water. Lastly, the waitress didn’t even ask if we wanted to split the bill, even though there were more than four of us at the table. She simply brought the final bill and the card machine right to our table. I hope my review will serve as a reminder to address these minor yet crucial issues. In general, I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage you to give it a try.

Metekhi is a solid, no-frills spot to dive into Georgian cuisine, and if you’re looking for authentic flavors without any pretension, this is the place. It’s got a relaxed vibe that doesn’t try too hard, just good, hearty food.

We started with the Nigvziani Badrijani, eggplant rolls stuffed with a walnut paste. It’s a simple dish, but the flavors come through nicely, with the rich, slightly earthy eggplant and the crunchy, spiced walnut filling making for a good balance of textures and tastes. Nothing fancy, just straight-up good.

Next, we had the Meat Crepes, which were a bit of a surprise. They’re soft crepes filled with seasoned meat and wrapped up like a little package. It was savory, satisfying, and the spices were on point, nothing too overwhelming, but enough to keep you coming back for more. They’re the kind of dish that feels comforting but also gives you something to look forward to with every bite.

For the main, we had the Imperuli, which is an Imereti region pie stuffed with a blend of Georgian cheeses. The crust was perfectly flaky and golden, with a cheesy, rich filling that was comforting and filling without being greasy. It’s the kind of dish you want to dig into on a cold day, something hearty and satisfying that feels like it’s been made with care.

The service at Metekhi was great, friendly, attentive, and quick, but not in your face. They made sure we had everything we needed without rushing us. It’s a nice touch when you’re just looking to enjoy your meal without being hurried.

The atmosphere is chill, not trying to impress but doing its job of making you feel comfortable and at ease while you enjoy your food. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy your meal, no distractions, just good food and good company.

All in all, Metekhi is a solid spot for Georgian food in Skokie. It’s not flashy, but it’s got the flavors down. If you’re in the area and looking for something different, this place is worth checking out.

Stepping into this new Georgian spot, which has only been open for three weeks, felt like a fantastic discovery. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a warmth that continued throughout the evening.
The food was incredible. You could tell everything was made with care and was incredibly fresh.
