Hubbs loves the chorizo breakfast burros, yesterday he got us both one (since I was home too). The breakfast burritos were really good!
Then we came for street tacos for dinner, LOL! The tacos were really good! We tried their corn and flour tortilla tacos- both are good. We did the 10 tacos, and we picked steak & chicken! The steak and chicken have great flavor and diced small! The toppings were really good! I did not love the red or green salsa- they were just ok, but still so good! We were able to eat 8 of the 10 !

I’ve been wanting to try Mr. Mesquite for a long time now, and finally did today.
To start out, I ordered my burrito online so my husband could swing by and grab it while he was out, and the total said $12.79. He called me after he left and told me he got my burrito and mango soda, which I had only ordered a burrito. He then told me the total was $16 and change. I called and spoke with the manager about this, who was very kind and professional— he said someone accidentally added a soda on, on their end, so he refunded for the drink. I’m not a fan of mango, but I’m sure one of our kids will drink it, haha.
On to the burrito— it was FANTASTIC. It tasted super fresh, and the flavor was incredible! Not to mention the size/portions inside were very generous. I got the green and red salsa, and the green was everything I’ve been looking for, for so long I’d go back there just to get more of the green salsa and some chips! The red was a little too hot for me, but my husband loved it, and said it’s the perfect combo of heat & flavor. My husband also said the restaurant was very clean and welcoming as well. (Disregard the limes, they didn’t come from here)
Very impressed, highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my corn flour street taco. I got the steak with cheese, cabbage, & their red sauce. The red sauce has a kick but not burning my mouth hot. The staff was super friendly too. I would definitely come back for more. The other person I was with said her steak was a little dry & that’s why I am giving it a 4 star. Will update if I come back!

Mr. Mesquite is definitely the best place to get street style tacos in Surprise! They cook their meat over mesquite lump coal right in front of you, nothing fake about the flavor. All their ingredients are fresh and they build your food for you to your liking. The prices are definitely reasonable. My family and I got a family meal of steak tacos for $35 that was enough for 4 hungry people to eat to their hearts desire. At least than 10 dollars per person, that’s a steal! My 5 year old loved it so much that he said he wanted it everyday, and we literally just went back today so he could have more tacos! The dining area is also very clean and kept up, and all staff wears masks and are super friendly. No one making you feel like they don’t want to work there. I highly recommend this restaurant!

My husband convinced me to give this place another try. I went with him a few weeks ago and got the mixed bowl. It was delicious. A week after that, I tried their breakfast buritto. Also delicious. Therefore, I have decided to change my original review from 2 stars to 5 stars.

I decided to form my own opinion after reading all the mixed reviews. The 2 women who prepared our food were pleasant, but the male who rang us up gave the vibe he would rather have been anywhere else but there. I ordered the mixed burrito, and my man ordered the supreme quesedilla. The food looked good, but that’s as far as the positive goes.The flavor of the meat was ok but full of gristle, which turned me off. The beans had no flavor. The guac was a fake puree with a strange taste. It’s disappointing for sure.

Decided to stop in today to see if anything has changed. Parking area is still slim pickings. Hard to find a spot most days. I get there is nothing that an be done due to the business built around. We arrived around 430 to an empty restaurant., There were two workers that just looked miserable. I can see why because it was so dang hot inside. Poor guys trying to cook. If I was uncomfortable then I can only imagine working in it over the flat top. They were friendly however and efficient. I chose a chicken quesadilla and my husband orders a couple tacos. I asked for a side of rice, but when we received my order I had beans as well. The quesadilla was huge and I had to take half home. I chose green sauce thinking it would be hot, but had more of a sweet taste. Rice was good. Beans were dry. Tacos were good and red sauce definitely better. A few more people came in while we were eating, but took it to go. This stop a bit better than the last, but for the price you’d think it was a more sit down spot. For the love of god turn the air down.

The soda selection is out of this world and I have a new flavor forever now…Vanilla Fanta is bomb.com and please don’t ever get rid of it…my second flavor is the hibiscus lemonade!!! Amazing service by staff & the food was great! Don’t stop the good back to back hits y’all jam to!!! Man I was jam’n & eat’n…you can’t go wrong…they place music for everyone and all categories! ❤️
