Upon opening its very first public day we were the very first to sit at this wonderful bar and welcome this restaurant to our Hollywood neighborhood. The beef tar tar was complicated and exquisite and a must order for anyone who dines here. The Brussel Sprouts are a perfect balance to this, as well. The cream sauce used on this was divine. Then there’s the fantastic Parisian bread with lightly salted butter. Thank you entire staff, you are kind as welcoming to us and it’s honestly just wonderful to have Parisian cuisine footsteps from my home. Bethany Case runs a smooth and very fun new spot and we cannot wait to return later this month!

We had a great experience at this restaurant for a friends Birthday. I had the New York strip the way the Chef recommended and it was one of the best New York strips I have had in Los Angeles. The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 star is because they were out of a few items which we were informed about after we ordered. In terms of service it was great. Server was attentive and they did offer a dessert on the house for the inventory issues. Be advised, they are cashless so you will need to provide a credit card.

First impression was excellent: a vibrant place with Brigitte Bardot posters and modernized Old Hollywood vibe. Although some small details were off – dead roses in the hostess’s vase, all waiters saying “Bridget” instead of Brigitte (if you have several pictures of her hanging around and a cocktail named after her, teach your staff how to pronounce her name), some confusion to sit us down – we were anxious to try the food. It missed the rendezvous. The pâté was bland despite an interesting side of pickled peaches, the entrees we had – including their steak, which they served to our incredulity with, basically, bread – were unremarkable for their price, and their baba au rhum was actually outrageous, tasting like toothpaste. There is potential but the food needs to be improved.

The restaurant food is overpriced for the effort they put and the ingredients they incorporate in a dish. It seems that they want to copy the high class French restaurants while their food is tasteless. The steamed halibut size was very small in a bland miso soup. Japanese mackerel was a few pieces of mackerels and a pickled mix of vegetables. I have to say that they add a 5% fee to your bill for their employee’s wellness, on top of tax and tips.

We had a pretty good dinner here. The halibut was fresh and good, paired well with the clam broth. The risotto was good (would be even better with more truffle!), and the pork chip was tasty.

Mes Amis feels more like a French restaurant you’d find in New York and that’s a good thing. The room is beautiful and energetic, the service was wonderful and the food quite memorable. Don’t skip on dessert!

Everything was excellent! The staff was nice and attentive, the food was gorgeous (risotto ), the wine was good (we’ve tried one of the cabs). The high chair for the kid was clean (which happens rarely). Overall – a very nice place, we would be happy to be back.
