The Merry Time Bar is locally owned and operated by long term service industry folks. Rad staff serves great food, cocktails and curated beer selection. If your idea of a great bar is an old local hangout with a bunch of collectibles, live music, pinball loft and friendly service this is your spot. Pool table, lottery, 21 and over at all times. Outside seating when the weather is good. Plenty of Big screens for all the games. Trivia Wednesdays. Vegetarian bar snacks in addition to burgers, tacos and more. Happy Hour Monday-Friday 3 to 5 featuring a $3 Char-Dog, $6 burger and grilled veggies over rice.

I haven’t been here in years, last time we were able to bet on the ponies, not now, and that’s not a big deal, you can still play the Oregon slot machines but don’t think you can get rich. On our visit we just wanted drinks, but the food that I saw looks great. My margarita was sub par, I won’t order again. They have a great pinball selection for us who like that. I’ll cycle back again.

Local tavern in Astoria with view of Columbia river. Food was decent. Wife and I got street tacos. Three tasty pork tacos, we should’ve shared them, they were so big. Has pinball, poker, and slot machines. Atmosphere is dark with lots of paraphernalia on the walls.

We like this place for decent bar food and affordable cocktails. They also have pinball machines and lots of things to do for fun like board games, outdoor seating and trivia nights. It’s a great place to relax and remember to never take yourself too seriously. It’s perfect for fun, causal date or night out with friends!

Fun staff and fantastic food! They have a good variety of pinball machines and gambling machines. They were doing a trivia night on the Wednesday that we went. Overall a great place with awesome vibes!

I really want to give this place a better review. I really, really do. This is a very cool bar! Their pinball machines are very well maintained, and everyone there is super nice. But, i will never order food or drinks here because of the smell. It’s rank. The balcony isn’t as bad, but it’s still not good. I know that smell from owning old bars, and working in them. This place needs a very deep cleaning. I truly wish this establishment was living up to it’s full potential. Owning and running a bar is very hard work, and i don’t envy anyone doing it.

Always had a fun and relaxing time in this cavernous positive attitude environment. The food specials never disappoint, a great variety of machines up in the pinball loft and easily the most inclusive place in a town with many other spots available to hang at.

The Chicken Tenders and fresh cut fries are my go to. Kaylie, Fester, Lenny, Dougie and Andre are A1 people. They treat you like Family. Customer service extraordinaire. A testament to the ownership. First time in and I will definitely be back. $2 rainier drafts all day every day is hard to beat,they also had a pretty good drink special. Was a great place to stop in and play some pool and pinball and even sit and eat some bar food with a view of the river!

The food was good. I ordered the Merry Monster and requested a salad instead of the fries/tot option. The salad was actually the best part. It was full of great ingredients and very fresh. My wife ordered the street tacos. She asked the order taker his opinion on the carnitas vs. chicken option. Unfortunately he wasn’t even trying to be helpful. Two star reduction wasn’t due to any one thing. It was more like so many small easy things that added up to lousy service, poor experience, and frustration. Here’s a few; ordering at the bar and paying the tip before the service only to discover that it took 42 minutes from order to service. cheep plastic utensils. Less then cold beer. The food runner did bring us requested water. Nobody check back at the table. I guess that’s because they want you to stand in line for anything else. Again, that’s fine but that level of service didn’t qualify for the level of up front tip.
