To start off the atmosphere and the service was AMAZING. Our waiter, which sadly I never cought her name but she does have pink hair, was amazing. She checked up on us periodically to make sure we had refills, our food was good etc. She didn’t check up us an annoyingly amount which is also amazing. We head questions about the certain meals and she was very nice and helpful with answers. For the food it was very good, I got the highlander burger which had a huge onion ring and pieces of bacon. My girlfriend got the soup which was turkey wild rice soup and both were DELICIOUS. surprising to both of us the soup ($9) came with a huge peice of toasted bread (I think sourdough) and a cup of seasoned butter. For my burger ($19), it was delicious but my only problem was that the tomato tasted like dish water. After taking out the tomato, the burger was a solid 9/10. We also got the Mac and cheese ($15) and it was so good, so so good. It did need a tad bit more salt but that could just be a personal preference. But as an add on, the burger on the menu says $19 but once they ask if you want fries with your burger (as anyone would) they do charge an extra $2, which I wasn’t expecting because most times they come together at the stated price. I personally think the burger is more worth $17 flat, the soup is 100% worth the $9, the Mac and cheese, although DELCIOUS, I think should’ve been $12. For pasta and cheese, $15 is a bit steep. Lastly a diet coke is $4 which is kind of crazy but I think they gave free refills, to be honest I forgot to ask. So overall, very solid choice for a lunch or dinner!

Had a great time here. The Highlander burger satisfied every craving I was having, the taste was great and it was very filling. The tots were nice and crispy. I got to introduce my friend to Scotch eggs which was fun and the ones here are pretty good. The cocktails are great too! The old fashioned was delicious as was the boozy hot cocoa! The service we got was quick and friendly! I’ll definitely be back.

Fantastic Service & a Delicious Vegetarian Pie!

”We came in on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful experience. It was pleasantly quiet, making it a perfect venue for a friend’s birthday dinner. The service was fantastic and very attentive.

I ordered the Speyside Pie, which was a delicious and very filling vegetarian option. Pricing was reasonable; expect to pay around $32 plus tip for a main course and a drink.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic British or Scottish cuisine!”

Used to have a wonderful atmosphere, but recently has become plastered in ugly political sloganeering. One can express politics tastefully in a restaurant; it would still be a bad thing to do, but one can do it tastefully. The way Merlin’s Rest has chosen to do it is garish.

Service is good, and food is solid. Nice mixed beers.

We have been coming here before the arrows awards since 2009. It is always amazing. Best pub experience this side of the ocean.

I went during dinnertime with a friend. I felt at home with a very nice Irish vibe. There was a 2 persons duo playing Irish soft music worked well as background. We tried the Pie, Chilli and Cheese curds – they were all excellent! Price was reasonable for the quality and Guiness was stout.

First time in and I cannot wait to go back. I had the Irish stew which was delicious. Sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive while the clientele there was friendly. The menu has tons of great options, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was prompt and welcoming.

Went back for a 2nd time and had the cobbler’s pie. Also delicious and our service was great.

This is a wonderful pub and feels authentically British. We attended on a Wednesday evening and there was a pub quiz that started not long after our arrival. The service was very good; our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and the prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. Definitely a good evening out. Cheers!

We loooove Merlins Rest Pub first because of the whisky selection, but also because of the food and the fun events they hold there. We come here often, and usually I eat a pasty or a meat pie– which are always solid. This time around, we just ordered appetizers (sausage rolls and tater tots) along with some scotch.

We love when they invite whisky brand ambassadors and have exclusive tastings, or on Burns Night, when they serve haggis. The bartenders are nice and very knowledgeable. The scotch selection is top-notch. We have found a few “unicorn” bottles here (we may or may not have finished them off… ). They’re also one of the few British pubs in town that serve a Pimm’s Cup, so huzzah!

We stumbled across this Pub after randomly Googling a place to go and we were very pleased by our decision to go. Absolutely great food and great service from the bar. Very cool atmosphere with prices that don’t break the bank. Highly recommended.
