Been here previously and had great experiences, decided to come here for valentine’s dinner and had a very different one.
Took 10 minutes to be seated -no big deal – Took about 40 minutes for someone to come to our table and ask if we had ordered anything. (we had to flag them down ourselves) Finally got our drinks about 15 minutes after we ordered them.
We saw more people leave because they were tired of waiting for service and food than people who left because they were fed.
Finally after 90 minutes of waiting for dinner (after we ordered) we were told our food would be out soon in about 10 minutes. We finally got our food, it was barely warm and just not good. My partner and I both ordered steak, and potatoes and were shocked how they could mess it up. We asked for our check and boxes. They comped us our meals, everyone was very apologetic, but very lacking in how the night played out.
Our dogs enjoyed the steaks when we got home.
We won’t be going there again for a while. (And definitely not for a Valentine’s Day)

Had Valentine’s Day dinner reservation at 5:30pm. We were seated right away. Got our drink order, and ordered our food, prime rib and added lobster. I received a text message at 6:07 saying our order was ready. At 6:15, the waitress came to our table and said there was a mistake, and they had run out of lobster. We finally got our food at 6:45pm. The food was cold, and there was no auju, horseradish sauce, drawn butter, or toppings for our baked potato. Asked the waitress for all of the above. She never brought any of it. The food was already cold when she brought it to our table, even the lobster was cold that she said they had to cook because they were out. She came to our table asking for a card for payment, and I asked about a discount since our dinner was terrible. She gave me a 20% discount. We ended up taking our food home in a togo container, so we could take it home to heat it up and make our own horseradish and drawn butter. Very disappointing! Next year we will cook our own at home or go to Ernie’s Steakhouse. We will probably never go back to Meriwheather’s Bistro.

Had to write a review because the food at this resturant has gone to a new level. I hope they keep this chef, what a difference. It has always been ok but now they have a new menu and it is a step above most resturants in the area. I just tried the Steak Benedict, my mother in law had the fish chowder, My wife had the Cob Salad they were all amazing. We will be back often.

Very good, very fresh tasting. Server was great, friendly, & helpful. The house club sandwich is really good. The fries seemed doubled fried. Soft inside crisp outside. The sandwich portion is large and served with a dill pickle slice. The sandwich came with a choice of soup, salad , or fries.

I’ve been coming to this hotel and Bar/grill for the last 5 years. The drinks were way overpriced. They changed the menu to a little dive bar menu. The food sucked. They changed the time for breakfast to 7 instead of 6. I heard they hired a new chef. Changed the menu, then fired him. Not really sure what has happened to this place, but I will not be back. Along with the people I bring up to Lewiston.

This was hands down some of the best food we’ve ever had. We’re traveling over to kooskia from Portland and stayed here in Lewiston overnight. We got to the hotel and did the normal thing of looking around for dinner. Stumbled on this bistro inside the hells canyon hotel and wow – so glad we did! We got the pretzels, boneless wings, side salad, and the hummus plate. It was to die for! It was honestly so good we had to have it for breakfast the next morning.
Thank you!!

Came in for the complimentary Continental breakfast provided with our room. Did not expect such a tasty and hearty offering. Then we were seated in the Meriwether’s restaurant and served like we were full dining guests. The service was attentive, fast, and intuitive. Great service! I will be back just to eat at the restaurant.

Great stop off to get a wonderful burger and fries. My test of a great place is the tartar sauce and there’s was fabulous. Thanks for hosting us while we visit Lewiston, ID.

So disappointed. We came for the Breakfast with Santa experience ( the experience with Santa is what makes this worth the price) this year it was nothing more than a breakfast buffet with Santa off to the side. No special Santa experience! No special decorations or interactions. Just a total waste of time and money. I will not be back again for this non fun event!

Tyler as a bartender and server is amazing! King salmon was very good as well. Four stars due to one bartender leaving early before Tyler took over leaving none bartending…. she also made absolutely terrible drinks.
