We had a business dinner here on a weeknight so the place wasn’t very busy. The four of us enjoyed our food, and the service was great. The bartender was attentive and engaging as as well as the waiter at our table.
The atmosphere at Mere is one of my favorite things as it has a cool history, has a southern plantation feel, and has a great backyard patio with a fire pit. It almost feels like a country club.
I would definitely go back here again!

Came for a birthday party and it was great! TJ was awesome. Unsure of the other waiter’s name, but he was good too! Overall, a great experience.

Mere Bulles is in a charming old Southern building. We came for the Sunday brunch buffet, and it didn’t disappoint.

The vibe inside could use a little more Southern soul. To be fair, I didn’t see the entire place, but the décor and seating felt a little like an upscale cafeteria. It’s fine… just not as charming as the beautiful old building suggests. But that’s not why you’re here. You’re here to eat.

And the food makes the trip worthwhile…. The hashbrowns were creamy, rich, and dangerously easy to keep going back for more. The Brussels sprouts had a deep, savory umami flavor… I never thought “Brussels” could taste so good. The French toast was caramelized and delicious… and I’m usually not a French toast person, but this one was surprisingly good. The Eggs Benedict was comforting (not as good as the version that my late dad made but I’m biased).

The buffet has an varied selection: crepes, biscuits and gravy, grilled vegetables, grits, bagels, salmon, even a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows if you want to have a sugar rush. It seems especially great if you’re a meat lover… (I’m not) but the people in my group absolutely were, and they were happy.

The cocktail options are also good — Bloody Marys, espresso martinis, Bellini’s…. I didn’t indulge (I was driving), but they looked tasty. The one thing that felt like a missed opportunity? Freshly squeezed orange juice. At this price point, it should be a given. Some other coffee options would have been nice…. like a cappuccino…maybe they were available and I missed the menu.

Speaking of price: for five people, it was about $400 before tip. So yeah, this isn’t your casual Sunday outing (at least not for me!). But for a once-in-a-while splurge or special occasion (as it was for us), it’s worth it.

One of my go to spots for business lunches. They also have a private room available if.you are hosting a large group or meeting.
Love that they have daily specials and honestly haven’t had a dish that I don’t like.
One of the few places that also has open air outdoor seating which I love!
Conversation is easy even when it fills up and the servers do a wonderful job.
Would recommend a reservation if you choose a prime dining time to ensure you don’t have to wait.

I’m obsessed with this spot! They always have daily specials, so there’s always something new to try, and honestly, I’ve never had a dish I didn’t love. Everything tastes fresh and full of flavor—it’s obvious the kitchen really cares about what they’re putting out. One of my favorite things, though, is that they have open-air outdoor seating. There’s just something about sitting outside, enjoying the vibe, and soaking up the fresh air while you eat that makes the whole experience feel even better. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food and the atmosphere, and this place does it effortlessly. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual lunch or grabbing dinner with friends, it’s always a win. Locals and visitors alike, this spot is definitely one to keep on your radar.

I dined with a friend at Mere Bulles this past Friday evening and we had a fantastic time! The service was wonderful, and the food was delicious & fresh. In order from start to finish, we had: Lavender Lemon Drop Martini, Gilded Rose (non-alcoholic version), She-Crab Bisque, Tuscan Tomato & Brie Bruschetta (not pictured), Crab-Stuffed Shrimp (seasonal menu), Braised Short Rib, Lemon Tiramisu (seasonal menu) & St. Antonin Cotes-du-Rhone, France (red wine). If you like crab, you absolutely cannot skip the she-crab bisque. It’s what they’re known for and it is incredible. This is the PERFECT location for a celebration or just an excuse to have an elegant dinner out. The menu is diverse and I can’t wait to come back to try more delicious dishes.

During my 7-day stay in Nashville, Mere Bulles was so far and away the best food I had all week that I went there two days in a row even though it was a 35-minute taxi ride from my hotel. Absolutely amazing.

We visited Mere Bulles as part of our ongoing restaurant tour within our new home town of Brentwood. The restaurant is within a beautiful historic country house which made for a great atmosphere. The server was great and he even brought us some free desserts on the house at the end of night since it was our first time visiting. As for the food it was just OK. We had higher hopes but our socks were not just blown away. My father-in-law in particular didn’t like his monk fish dish. I guess monk fish is a unique fish with a unique taste. It’s not for everyone. My wife ordered the hot chicken sandwich. It was moist and juicy and probably the best item we ordered apart from the she crab soup that I ordered as an appetizer. They made daughter pasta with a cheesy bechamel sauce with grilled chicken. Also tasty. I ordered salad for myself because I wanted something light after having BBQ for lunch at Edleys earlier in the day (see my review on Edleys which is awesome). The spinach wasn’t crisp as it should have been. I was not sure if it was because of too much salad dressing or just too many days in the fridge. Overall I would say it was a nice family night at a nice family restaurant.

Attending a special event there on the second floor. The mansion was very quaint. Our server and assistant were extremely attentive to our larger party… We very much enjoyed the balcony.. Formate it was a cooler evening. Our crab soup was delicious!!! I had the shrimp and grits. It was very tasty however I is would have preferred it to be on a bed of creamy grits rather than the deep fried grits cakes. Hubby got the prime rib. Could have used seasoning. It was very rare. Not very happy with the cut. Sides were good. All in all a good experience.

Thanksgiving 2025- What has happened to Mere Bulles? We were seated upstairs in a small room with six tables which felt way too tight to enjoy a meal. The wait staff appeared to be a rock and roll band with their second gig as waiters- spiked, frosted, hair , multiple tattoos and even a nose ring. They were very attentive though, but seemed out of place for the setting. We ordered the turkey which tasted more like a turkey roll than fresh and was way over salted. A small salad or bowl of bisque was an $18 upcharge after paying $70 for turkey and 2 sides. The cranberry salad was the strangest thing I’ve ever tasted seasoned with something like cloves and pepper jelly. The rolls were obviously store bought from a food supplier. I ordered the carrot cake for dessert which was dry and tasted like it had been thawed out for the occasion. The music playing was totally inappropriate for family Thanksgiving. I’m not sure who is running this place now, but I think they need to read this and make some changes. I have eaten at MB many times and I believe that the quality of food I had today was intentionally poor in order for MB to save money and time. There’s no reason possible other than management choices that all these things would go wrong in our meal and dining experience.
