Honestly, I left pretty disappointed. The restaurant is nice and the prices made me expect something really good, but the pizza ended up being aggressively average. I mainly came to try the Sicilian pizza, but they were already out of the dough for that pizza. The pizza I ordered instead was nothing special, especially for the price. It honestly made me think I could’ve just ordered delivery from a local place for less and had a better pizza.

Delicious pasta, pizza & gelato!! Great atmosphere for a family night out or casual meet-up. We’re looking forward to trying their many varieties of gelato.

stopped in, had a Margherita, nothing else. Excellent pizza for the price. I see Pizza Roberto is still on the menu, a salute to the great Roberto Caporuscio. speaking of Roberto, did you know that he imported and installed a pizza oven from Napoli and placed it at 1141 Freeport Rd? the place was called something “Grill”, and it changed ownership several times. The oven is not visible currently, as it is covered by sheetrock wall and a beer and wine bar, but you can partially see it from a side storage closet.

Excellent pizza & gelato. We got the Margherita, Marinara, & Salsiccia & they were all great. Service was a little slow so allow time for that. Good selection of gelato, as well.

Oddly enough, while it’s just a pizza joint, they actually recommend/accept reservations and, to boot, ask for a credit card to hold it! Whatever the case, not much of a vibe here, and far too bright (dim those lights). That said, the pizza was really very good, while we also enjoyed a very good glass of wine and a decent DG IPA. There was a bit of a delay to get us seated (not sure why) but our service thereafter was pretty decent I must say. I’d probably return.

I recently placed a take out order there and entered everything correctly to my knowledge. I’ve always enjoyed the food and they do gluten free well. However when I arrived they wanted to charge me 4 additional dollars because apparently even though I marked gluten free there was an up charge. I wasn’t prepared and with working class families we need all the income we can get. So I won’t be dining or supporting this establishment. When I emailed them it was essentially an “oh well”

Great food, delicious calzone, okay Gelato, amazing appetizers.

The issue is I feel waiters are overworked, which means you can get overlooked. I wanted to order pizza after we had our meals, and I had my hand up for a good 10 minutes, sometimes yelling “excuse me” but never could catch anyone’s attention despite being seated in front of the baker. Could the baker not inform the waiters? Not sure but I didn’t end up getting that pizza.

Another issue is you will sweat so much, they had their AC turned off while it was in the 90s outside. We were seated next to the oven too so it was like a sauna.

Pretty good pasta and great gelato! The orecchiette with sausage and rapini was knockout The gelato was super creamy and delicious – we ordered half double chocolate and half blackberry. We were a little disappointed though by the Frittelle appetizers (fried dough with marinara and mozzarella) – weren’t the most flavorful thing or best texture.

I just spent 10 minutes on hold waiting to order after someone picked up my call and told me to hold, then was then hung up on. I tried calling back with no success. I really hope Mercurio’s hasn’t abandoned the phone or personal touch of service for the almighty app. Please do better…..

I had the Salsiccia E Friarielli. A white pizza. It was wood fire baked. Now this is normally doesn’t mean much except a higher chance for your crust to be burnt, however; they did it amazing justice. The crust was the lighter and airiest crust I’ve ever had. I recommend eating that as soon as you can once it is off the fire.

You’ll probably lose roughly 60% of the texture if you take it home in a box so I highly recommend eating at the restaurant for maximum flavor and texture. The pizza was really really good. Though roughly half way through the pizza the crust lost its peak airiness. The pizza was still very good and was still one of the most tender crusts I’ve ever eaten so it will still be great but not magical.

The gelato selection was fantastic. No complaints. I got a small waffle cone of their dulce de letca and it was very very good. Just the right balance of sweetness and creaminess. I would pick this place over a fair amount of ice cream shops.

The wait staff were all very nice even though they were super busy. They worked really well and made sure I was taken care of.
