Love the salads at this Mendocino Farms location in San Mateo! All the ingredients were fresh and perfectly presented, even in the take-out containers. Fast and super friendly staff. The parking lot can be very busy and a bit chaotic, but the underground parking lot has a lot of spots and easier to navigate.

The lemonade here is not the syrupy kind, it strikes the perfect zingy balance that you’d want on a warm day. The prosciutto and chicken sandwich was tasty, and the balsamic glaze in it nailed it. It added the tang it was meant to without taking over. It’s self-service, but they are quick and efficient. With benches, and high stools, the space leans industrial, amd somehow it all works together.

Friendly service. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich. It did take a little long to get my order. However, it did not disappoint. It was hot toasty and delicious! It is a bit pricey for deli type sandwich. I got the sandwich, diet coke and potatoes chips and came to $26. Clean establishment including the restroom. I would return again if I ever venture to that area again.

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. The attendant at the counter was patient, reapectful, and quick. We dined in. There were plenty of open tables. The service time was about right. I found the noise level comfortable. Finally, and most important the not so fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and the best part of the visit. I am a fan of Mendocino Farms, and this visit lived up to their great reputation. I expect to visit here again when I return to the area. The prices were ok, about on par with what I expected for lunch at a counter service restaurant. The prompt for a giant tip was a slight annoyance, but I was feeling generous. If you order food at the counter you should not be prompted for a tip as big or bigger than the customary amount for full table service. The default tips shown were too high given that.

We have come to Mendocinos a number of times and always had a good experience however the last time we were there was exceptional. Not only was the food delicious as usually but the service was outstanding. They had gotten my order wrong and were so helpful and prompt in fixing the mistake. They also granted us two complimentary cookies for the mistake which was unnecessary but well received. 100% recommend both food and service!

Okay so the service is excellent! Gabrielle was very helpful and knowledgeable on the menu. We had the avocado quinoa salad and the chicken sandwich spicy one. It was okay. The salad was a little different Grinding crunchy quinoa which for 35 and up freaks you out because it feels like a tooth broke! If you have allergies it might be hard to pick through food as my man is allergic to corn and onion and it was all over the food. The juice is awesome but lemonade was too sweet! They should fix by the juice because it was a mess of dirty towels. Overall I give this place a 4 because it’s a great concept with good service but needs to clean up a little. Would I come here again??? Maybe if someone wanted it. So it’s not a no. Kiddos to awesome employees.

UPDATE: I got to visit this shop again, this time I opted for the Prosciutto & Chicken sandwich. It was great! I liked it even better than the November to Remember.

Very cute sandwich shop! They have a pretty good menu filled with tasty looking and sounding options.
I had the limited edition November to Remember sandwich and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the cranberry bread.
As for their house made drinks, I’d really recommend the Rose Lemonade, it’s very “rosy” with a great scent and rose taste. Best lemonade I’ve had in a while.

I had the limited edition November to Remember sandwich and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the cranberry bread.
As for their house made drinks, I’d really recommend the Rose Lemonade, it’s very “rosy” with a great scent and rose taste. Best lemonade I’ve had in a while.

I can only simply say wow! The experience eating at this Mendocino‘s was completely different than the other one on San Ramon. The people working here were very friendly and very communicative with my order I have no complaints at all also they still have their Fontaine drinking machine with this very exotic flavor drinks which I love it very much.. I definitely recommend this restaurant. The sandwiches where Very well made. I ordered The Peruvians sandwich and the impossible burger which are very tasty and very delicious not so juicy but also not so dry simply perfect. Thank you so much guys for making such good sandwiches and giving the customer a nice and very friendly experience by eating at your restaurant thank you

The restaurant’s interior is tastefully designed with a modern yet rustic feel. It’s spacious, well-lit, and adorned with charming decor that creates a cozy and welcoming environment. However, we decided to sit outside and make use of some daylight while we enjoyed our meal.
The staff at Mendocino Farms were very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They happily accommodated my dietary preferences and made helpful recommendations (around a veggie salad that i was looking for). This level of service truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
Mendocino Farms takes pride in using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients, and it shows in every bite. The menu offers a wide variety of options, from artisan sandwiches and hearty salads to creative sides and gourmet beverages. We ordered the Avocado and Quinoa Salad along with Peruvian Steak, Pink beats and Goat Salad and last but not the least, a BYO (Build your own) Chicken Salad with mixed greens. I had the Quinoa salad and it definitely tasted divine. Everybody around the table had similar reviews for their orders and loved every bite of their meal. The portions were generous, and every ingredient was fresh and flavorful.
Mendocino Farms definitely has the quality and portion sizes justify the prices. It’s an excellent choice for a special meal or when you’re craving something a bit more upscale.
All in all , the combination of exceptional food, top-notch service, and a charming atmosphere makes it an outstanding dining destination. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu.
