The patio is lovely with colorful umbrellas over tables. I ordered a frozen margarita, and it came with a live orchid flower in it!
Very nice touch. The food came out fast, was delicious and fresh. Superb service.

Stopped in for lunch today and absolutely loved it. We always enjoy supporting locally owned restaurants instead of big chain places, and this spot is truly a hole-in-the-wall gem.
The place was busy, which is always a great sign, but the service was outstanding and everything moved quickly. We were in and out in no time, making it a perfect lunch stop.
The food was fantastic. The chicken sour cream enchiladas were especially delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal.
Great food, great service, and a great local spot. We’ll definitely be back!

I enjoyed my dinner here last night. The food, ambiance and service were on point. The fish tacos with the roasted tomatoes took me back in time. It was delicious. Eric the bartender delivered on amazing and hospitable service. Chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. Very nice chill ambiance for any evening to just relax and grab a tasty bite. Will definitely revisit when in Richardson.

This was my second time visiting Mena’s Grill, but my first time dining in and sitting at the bar.
Customer service was excellent — truly a 5 out of 5. The bartender was attentive, kind, and professional. The atmosphere felt welcoming, and you can tell they have loyal regulars, which always speaks well of a restaurant. The staff overall seemed consistent and friendly.
Now for the food.
I ordered the queso to start. The flavor was good, but it wasn’t hot — more lukewarm than fresh-out-the-kitchen warm. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak with beans, pico de gallo, enchilada, and rice. The flavors were solid, but again, the plate came out lukewarm.
For a Tex-Mex spot, temperature really matters. I don’t need it piping hot, but I do expect my food to feel freshly made and properly heated when it arrives. That was my only disappointment.
I’ve ordered carryout before without issue, and because the service and vibe are strong, I will definitely be back to give it another try. I just hope next time the food comes out hot and fresh.
Overall: great service, good flavors, strong local energy — just room for improvement on food temperature.

We have been trying restaurants near our home. The Thai restaurant across from Mena’s quickly became a go to location. Each time we went, we saw Mena’s and told each other we needed to try it. Well, we finally did and it did not disappoint. We were greeted quickly and professionally. Our waiter was quick to bring water and take our drink and appetizer order. We took our time enjoying our starters. The waiter checked on us just the right amount of time and never made us feel like we needed to hurry up an order. Once we did and received our plates, both of us were very pleased with the taste. It was extremely good. We will be back and I am looking forward to warmer weather to take advantage of the outside seating. My statement to someone considering eating here – DO IT – but get there early. We went on a Wednesday night and by the time we left it was packed.
