The food was ok but the banana pudding was spectacular. They only had baked chicken for meat which I fault myself for coming about 2hrs before closing. The store itself is famously nostalgic. Looked like the store in the movie the color purple. The employees were. Exceptional and very helpful.

Memphis Best Soul Food had THE BEST food ever! We were traveling to Memphis and I knew I wanted soul food and found this restaurant online. Each meal comes with cornbread (which is amazing) and I had the baked chicken, green beans and rice and enjoyed every minute of eating!!! The workers were so kind and there were lots of amazing decorations celebrating family and historical Memphis people! Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Come hungry and enjoy!!!

If this was the best, please don’t show t me the worst. The staff was friendly, but I never met anyone that wasn’t in Tennessee. But the place was hot! The smell of it was kinda funny, but I choked it up to chitterlings. They did give you generous portions, we went for lunch.. but the food had no flavor. The white beans and turkey were just cooked. And it tasted like there was no salt or pepper added. The broccoli and cheese was very good. But how can u miss with cheese on it. The green beans were just warmed out the can, so it tasted as such. Anyway, customer service was good.

Got 3 dinners.. baked chicken dinner steak burger dinner and turkey wing dinner. All 3 meats was sooooo dry. The rice and pinto beans were good tho and the peach cobbler was fresh out the over but it tasted like a cinnamon toast. No nutmeg or nothing and the people are nice. Not in a good area so I made sure my husband was with me.

It tastes like grandma and great Auntie stayed up all night preparing for a good ole Sunday dinner but instead it’s Everyday‼️ The line for food can get long but I promise the wait is so worth it. Needs a little work. The first time I tried food it was great hit the spot. The second time in the same weeks. The food was off. The broccoli and cheese only had a slice of cheese on it. No cheese in broccoli, which was totally different from the first time. The beefy Mac noodles was way over cook, a block of cheese on top and saucy. It just didn’t taste right. Now the turkey legs, bake chicken, and black eyed peas is a must try.
