We seen it on Diners Drive Ins & Dives, and Man vs Food. I heard it was good, so on our way back from PA, we decided to take a detour to try it.
The place is amazing! We had to wait on a Sunday afternoon for a table, for whatever reason they didn’t use the side room. The wait was worth it.
The food came out in a reasonable time, quicker than I thought with as busy as they were. Service was great. Our waitress stopped by several times to see if we needed anything, if food was tasting good etc. Quick on the refill. Can’t ask for more.
I had a cheeseburger, my wife the mac n cheese burger. Both were big, and filling. We both took food home. My wife ordered appetizers, they were great too. She wasn’t fond of the coleslaw that came with hers, but only because she said onions were pretty hot. I thought it was good.
I’d recommend it!

Grilled Cheese – two of the greatest most simple yet most complicated sandwich words. Done right, perfection. @meltbargrilled does this right with large Texas toast and abundant cheese. My son’s favorite is an old school “kindergarten”. I really enjoy the cheeseburger in Texas Toast also. The fries are amazing also. And i would be remiss if i didn’t mention that Melt has so many other awesome gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Each month they have specials and for all of them your will need “two hands”. They are huge.

The meals were just amazing. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich, my wife American cheese burger, my daughter had the Monte Cristo sandwich and my son in law had the cowabunga sandwich. I also got some samples of their ciders and found one a just loved. You will find many choices on the menu. Restrooms were well kept. Good cleaniless through out the restaurant. This is my second time eating at this location and I am always very pleased with the food and drinks, as well as the price for the meals.

A very interesting take on grilled cheese. Lots of wacky options and crazy concoctions. Everything tasted good. We got the mac n cheese bites (could use some kind of seasoning or dipping sauce). I got the chorizzo hash grilled cheese with an egg on it and fries. Had to eat with a fork. Messy! My daughter got the meatball grilled cheese with broccoli and cheese side.
Everything was good but it didnt “wow” me. I may or may not go back.

My husband and I went to The Melt today after visiting the zoo and were pleasantly surprised…it was really good and large portions. My husband got the Cleveland Cheesesteak and I got the Monte Cristo and it was so good. It was like getting a dessert and a entree. With the monte cristo I got chips with dip that was like French onion and ranch. The waitress recommended it and it was amazing. We also had chips and artichoke dip as an appetizer and loved it. My husband got a mixed drink from the bar and he liked it. I give them a 4 out of 5 because they had 2 waitresses that got into an altercation while we were there. What happened was the waitress behind the bar told the other waitress…” the guy in the back told me the new girl put that there” …and then the new girl said “ it wasn’t me” they did on the floor in front of customers which to me seemed low class. It was also rude of the waitress behind the bar to confront the other waitress loudly and in front of customers coming to relax and destress. Even if she was a manager it was rude to call an employee the new girl and also confront her on front of all the customers loudly. They also had these weird outdoor Christmas and Halloween decorations all around the restaurant…it just gave it a cheap vibe when I saw them. And being from the Nashville area bars and restaurants there don’t have cheap decor like that at there bars.

Went to here for my daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner. They were set up ahead of time and ready for a large group. The service was good. Everyone was happy with their generous portion size choices.

Great atmosphere, not the greatest meal. I managed to get two ineatible additions to my meal. The chips were soggy and the slaw was bland. The sandwich was good enough that I will give it another chance, but I will be checking the food extra careful.

Today was my first time eating at the Melt. I was visiting from Michigan and I’ve always wanted to go to the Melt after I saw the Man Vs Food episode. I started out with an order of the fried mozzarella wedges and I got a Mighty Macaroni Grilled Cheese with potato chips. Some of my potato chips were stale; but other than that the food was Very Good. Service was great as well. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly. Would definitely recommend the Melt.
P.S. Would love it if the Melt came to Michigan

I have been to Melt twice during my trips to Cleveland. This particular location in Avon is more chill than the other one I have visted. The parking is a lot better with plenty of spaces. The atmosphere is more quiet and less energetic than the Lakewood location but the service is still good. Definitely more of a family vibe. The server was very friendly and attentive. My food was pretty decent and the portion is very large. I had the Chorizo and Potato melt with fries. And a side of Broccoli. I thought I ordered the a broccoli casserole but it was more like cheese broccoli with bread crumbs and not good coated that well. I would not recommend it. The melt was pretty good but a little dry. I really liked the fries.
