I’ve been to Melt before, so I went in with fairly neutral expectations, not expecting anything terrific, but not expecting it to be terrible either.
My friend and I started with the calamari fritti. As I went to pick up my first bite, I noticed how light it felt, which made sense once I realized there was barely any calamari beneath all that breading.
Next I had a bowl of their homemade pasta e fagioli. There wasn’t much in it but it came out hot and had a nice, comforting flavor.
For my main, I went with the garlic herb buttered scallops with house-made orzo, Parmigiano, fava beans, and pancetta, listed on the menu as capesante. It was so salty that by the third bite that’s all I tasted.
My friend went with the chicken Parmesan with house-made buttered pasta, listed on the menu as pizzaiola di pollo. Unfortunately, both the chicken and pasta were rubbery, and the tomato sauce lacked flavor. The entire dish came across as if it had been reheated.
Our server was polite, but he never asked how the food was. Not once.
My first visit was average, my second visit was awful, and well, there won’t be a third.
On a positive note, Melt is exceptional for Thanksgiving. I’ve gone the past three years, and the food and service were both top tier.
The items on the menu were enticing.
The food, however, was not (as it should have been) the high point of our lunch.
Two of us ordered Caesar salad. I’ve had many good Caesar salads, including one’s made at the table side. The key is the dressing, the anchovies the flavor. Well, the lettuce was good lol. It was not swimming in dressing, which is good but it tasted like standard food service dressing with standard food service croutons. I could’ve gone to Olive Garden. I added grilled chicken to mine, which was well prepared.
One of our party got the Caprice Panino imperial the ingredients for fresh, but otherwise nothing to write home about.
One of our party ordered pappardelle al vitello. According to that person (I did not taste it myself) it was OK but could’ve used more flavor.
In closing, it is a high-end group type restaurant with nice decor and adequate but not compelling cuisine
From the moment we arrived, our waitress (Danielle) was such a joy to chat with and was incredibly attentive to all our requests. This was especially important for us since we have some food sensitivities and allergies, and she handled everything perfectly! And let me tell you, you HAVE to try the cheesecake – it was absolutely delicious!
Getting there was easy, and we highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it can get pretty busy. The support staff was so friendly and cheerful, adding to the great atmosphere. The manager even stopped by to check in on us, which was a nice touch! Plus, the warm, flavorful bread was definitely a highlight!
I can’t recommend their pasta dishes enough; they’re bursting with flavor and served in generous portions!
Will I come back? Absolutely, if I’m in the area! Do I recommend it? A big double yes!
Shoutout to our Rockstar of the Day, Danielle! We truly pray that God blesses you and your loved ones because you made our visit so special!
The only small hiccup was that one of the hosts didn’t seem too enthusiastic, which didn’t make us feel as welcome. But on the bright side, the rest of the staff was fantastic!
The calamari appetizer was incredible. We got ravioli’s, the Italian dip sandwich, and ny steak dishes – cooked to perfection!
We just had to get the dessert even though we were full! We ended up getting tiramisu, coffee cheesecake, and the apple cake. YUM!!
Thank you for a spectacular dinning experience!!!
When I got home I experienced a lot of gas which turned into full blown food poisoning. I was sick for 48 hours. Still not 100% but I’m feeling much better.
After reading other reviews, I’ve noticed that several people have reported food poisoning. I’m not sure what’s going on but this place needs to be investigated.
We had the full experience, table was set after we sat down in a very classy way, light everything was important to our experience.
All dishes were explained to us in great detail. I asked about wine pairing with the dish that I chose, the waiter brought me wine examples to try and they were from his experience.
Rolls to dip in Olive oil served, very good.
I ordered a breaded chicken breast meal and it melted in my mouth. Wine suggestions were perfect and I had a wonderful new birthday experience
Our hostess was truly pleasurable, Juan was our kind and helpful server who really took care of us.
Our Sunday brunch was wonderful. I enjoyed the crab stuffed portobello mushroom though the lemon-based sauce became a bit overwhelming. My girlfriend loved her omelette and potatoes.
We look forward to returning for dinner.
