The food is amazing! The tri-tip sandwich was really good and the fries were great and there’s an older guy who comes and plays instruments so you have live music! He played the flute and the guitar! Price was reasonable and we really like the red coloring of the walls and the lighting and the vibe! Our waitress was amazing! 10 out of 10 experience! Also, the beer was cheap! $4 dollars to $4.50 depending on which one you get. $15 for a burger and fries and they give you a decent amount of fries and the burger is huge! It was a half pound burger! We really love this place!

Seems like every trip to Lebanon reveals something else extraordinary. The last adventure found Mel’s on Madison serving a meal that by itself would have been worth the 150 mile round trip. Their trendsetting menu served in a historic building glamorously proclaims that old dogs can do new tricks flawlessly.

The restaurant was very small town feel. A lil sign reads ( Seat yourself). We did just that and then a warm welcoming smile from a young lady who then asks our drink orders.. the food took a while But that has a great reason as to why. The food is fresh!!! The menu was small in the selections of food just my personal opinion. I know people that like a smaller menu for faster ordering..

Wow! Great little gem in Lebanon. I had the Elk burger and my wife had the tri tip (french) dip. The food was so good, I’d probably take the 45 min trip just to eat. The burger was HUGE, and perfectly cooked. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, and the fries are insanely good. Maybe the best fries I’ve ever had. The tri tip dip was juicy and flavorful, a great twist on an OG. Lastly, our server Jami was awesome! She made great suggestions and was so friendly and welcoming. I doubt I’ll eat anywhere else when I’m in town. 10/10

First visit while traveling through. The food was great! I had the BBQ tacos and my family had pulled pork and mac and cheese. The tacos were delicious! Mom said the pulled pork was good, 4 out of 5. They have a large selection of sauces to sample from sweet to hot and everything in between. The waitress was great, very attentive and kind. The atmosphere is fine for what it is. Nothing special but not bad at all. Overall I would definitely visit again if we pass through again!

Outrageously good. We had the pulled pork nachos, Mel’s Mac, tri tip dip, fried grouper sandwich. They pour a great Guinness and the fries were perfect too. Super impressed and will be making a stop anytime we’re in the area

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from a trip out West, on the recommendation from the front desk clerk at our hotel and a random guest that was in the lobby. It did not disappoint. Very chill place with a no-frills, throwback vibe. My husband had tri tip tacos and I had the pulled pork plate. Both were excellent!! Exceptional, really. Even my side salad was fresh and delicious!! Ashley was our server, and she took terrific care of us. She had other tables, and she handled every one of them quickly and efficiently. Bonus: they make their own barbecue sauce AND sell it. Do yourself a favor and grab a bottle before you go.

We’re usually two of the harshest critics, driving all over Missouri trying hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Most are a disappointment — bland food, poor service, and an atmosphere that feels dull or uncomfortable. Eight out of ten times, we leave knowing we won’t be back.
To be blunt, Lebanon has never impressed us — until Mel’s. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place was different. The atmosphere was welcoming, the waitress was attentive and genuinely kind, and the food was flat-out amazing. I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt this surprised by a restaurant.
Mel’s may very well be #1 on our list for the best small restaurant we’ve been to. This is how it should be done. Keep it up — we’ll be back again and again.

I would like to start by saying I found out that the Kitchen Manager and the Pitmaster are the owners, and it definitely shows in the quality of food. I started with the smoked wings smoky and crispy. They have a plethora of sauces to try, 16 sauces total. For the main course I. had the St. Louis ribs, the best ribs I have ever had. French fries are fresh-cut and delicious. by far the best restaurants in Lebanon. i will be returning the next time I’m in town.

This place is amazing. The Tri tip sandwich was so good. My friend dining with me had the burnt end tacos. They were so Amazing. Tway brought out a sauce selection for us to try all of the sauces they had with a small sampling tray. It was absolutely some of the best homemade sauce that I have tried. The blackberry whisky jalapeño was my favorite. The best part was they sell the sauce o you can take some home with you. I can’t wait to come back and try all of the menu. Great job everyone at Mel’s. You have a customer for life.
