The atmosphere, the nostalgia, and the wonderful service makes this place a great spot for any occasion. I visited for my birthday and got an awesome scoop of ice cream with cake in it. The food was pretty good. Definitely no complaints. The wait wasn’t too bad either and gave us time for a short adventure and photo opps outside of the restaurant. The singers/wait staff rotate the microphone and you’ll enjoy different genres and eras of music while you eat or attempt to stuff yourself with a banana split! Definitely give this a try!

Great food. Big portions. Incredible talent! The singing servers make this place unforgettable. Burger and Philly cheesesteak were delicious, atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Dinner + a show done right. 10/10, will return! The singers were amazing! Great voices and good entertainment.

Like everything in Branson, Mel’s Hard Luck Diner is designed to entertain. The portions and prices were not bad and the singing servers were entertaining and a nice change. Come when you have time to enjoy a group meal and split a desert. You will not be disappointed.

One of the things that separates this restaurant from your average diner is the singing servers; they are quite good and still attentive to your needs. The service is always great here, with lots of down home feel. Good selection of food choices for lunch and dinner. They have dessert, but it mainly centers around ice cream. I happen to like a nice slice of cake or pie for dessert, maybe even a la mode. Just a suggestion to add other offerings to the dessert menu. I still continue to visit just because of the great atmosphere!

Always fun. Singers were much better this time however. Food was great. I’d recommend the Philly sandwich. The malt and shakes were great too according to my family.

Fun atmosphere with talented singing servers (they have to audition to get a server job). I had the Ruben with fries $16.50 which was served hot, but very soggy. The flavor was good, but I really missed the usually raspberry accompaniment. Hubby had a huge Southwest salad with crispy chicken $16.50 and said it was very good. We saw a cherry float made and it made us promise each other we’d come back for ice cream another day.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this place. The wait staff are also performers and take turns serenading the patrons. It is a little louder at times because of the performances. The food was the best we’ve had our whole vacation and they are on our list of places to revisit. Portions are big and flavors are wonderful.

This was a great place! The servers sing while they’re serving and it was just such a fun atmosphere. Food was good too and they offered several gluten free options and had a gluten sensitive menu.

The cheese steak, fries, and chocolate shake were all pretty good. Our first server, Kharie, seemed very nice, but for some reason she was switched out for a different server as soon as we sat down. I was bummed we didn’t get to hear her sing because her track list seemed cool. It said there were CDs available for purchase but I couldn’t find it in the shop. I think Matt was the second server and he was also nice, and he had a pleasant singing voice. 4 stars mainly because the intermittent singing made it hard to have conversations and also it meant that the server was unavailable for several minutes when we had already finished our food and were ready to leave.

Great atmosphere. The singers are way better than you’d expect at a diner. The walk around through the diner and clearly enjoy what they do. Good quality food and huge deserts portions. When they tell you the desert serves 4 people, it’s definitely for 4 people. It’s a stellar place for your kids to eat and have fun. The feel free to be theirselves yet the diner never feels hectic. It’s a great restaurant stop for your Branson trip.
