I absolutely love this place and have been coming here for a long time — it’s one of those little gems you just keep coming back to. I recently stopped by again because they have a special on certain days where you can get $3 fish tacos (yes, THREE dollars!) and they’re so worth it. Pro tip: follow them on Facebook and Instagram so you can catch when the specials are happening — it’s totally worth planning a visit around it.
The food here is always made fresh to order, which I love because it means everything tastes hot, fresh, and just right. This time I tried the artichoke and the crab cakes, and I cannot stop thinking about those crab cakes. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and full of flavor on the inside — not greasy, not dry, just absolutely delicious. The artichoke was also perfectly cooked and came out steaming, making it such a comforting appetizer to share.
One of my favorite things about this spot is how cozy it feels. It’s a small, inviting place with a few outdoor tables, so you can sit and enjoy your food in a relaxed setting. There’s no big dining room “scene” inside — it’s more of a laid-back, neighborhood vibe, which honestly makes me love it even more. It’s the kind of place you can just stop by, grab something amazing, and take a minute to slow down.
Every visit feels personal, like you’re supporting a local business that really cares about what they serve. The food always comes out looking beautiful and tasting incredible, and the staff is always kind and welcoming.
This is hands-down one of my go-to spots, and I recommend it to anyone who loves fresh, flavorful food and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

Hadn’t eaten here since the change of ownership that’s to bad used to be a 5 stars now it’s a 3 star it was just ok this time it. They only gave 1 small container of tartar sauce for 2 big peices of fish and no lemon that was disappointing i got it to go and didn’t realize til I got home

I was raving to my family about this place for the longest time just to be disappointed and hear bad reviews from them to me. The food looked good, but there was NO seasoning whatsoever. The only thing with flavor was the garlic fries, because of the garlic. I didn’t even bother asking for salt packets because I thought it was already seasoned. No room for seating. Not worth the $100.

Grabbed an order to go. Did not realize how huge the portions are! Had to sneak a bite on the way home. Got the fish meal and a chicken meal. Very tasty!

By far the best thing is their fish. Nicely fried and tasty, but was slightly overdone. Decent everything else too, and not that they were bad, but wish the chips were a bit better.
The staff accurately prepped our large order and was helpful with guiding us through their menu and way too many questions our party had about their vinegar.
Outside seating only, which is just off the parking lot with wafts of countryside stank while we were there. No thanks, take-away, please!

I love this place. So yummy. The best jalapeno poppers ever. My pregnant self went tonight before the said closing time on Google (8pm) and cried when I saw it was closed early Will be back soon. They also have fish taco specials if you follow their Facebook page they post when they have it. Yummy yummy yummy!

Mel’s is mostly oriented towards take out, although we did opt to sit at one of the two tables outside. The food was enjoyable and the prices were fair. We would have no problem going back. We are planning to do so to try some of the other things on the menu.
