Walked in it was crowded greeted immediately and nicely, waited maybe 5 min for a booth ( not long they were busy). Awesome atmosphere very nice old school decor. Waited maybe 5 -7 min on chopsteak and eggs breakfast cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. I had a pomegranate mimosa it was fantastic best flavor ive had to date. My server Farrah was great very courteous and on it she checked on me 5 times in 20 min great service friendly. My total was 27.00 dollars for chopsteak 2 eggs grits a mimosa and a tea great price.only 17.00 without the mimosa or extra egg…Best breakfast for your dollar ive had the 4 months ive Been here reviewing food in the ft myers area.
A must come to if your in the area or a local that hasn’t tried it yet..
They also have some great valentine’s specials coming up in 2 weeks .. Come support local or for a great out of town experience.
(in contrast my breakfast yesterday at ihop was 20.00 for eggs sausage and toast and coffee)

Great place! Wish we had one closer to us! We were in Fort Mayers for a job and this place was highly recommended. Menu says they cook clean aka no shitty ingredients or low grade ingredients and I like that. I try my best to eat clean which is tough so this was a huge plus. The food was good, no one had any problems with their order. I had their famous salad (Too lazy to google it and too old to remember the name) and it was very good and huge! Maybe I’m getting old but I felt very satisfied, I say that because I never order salads nor do I not take the opportunity for a good piece of red meat. I had a side of biscuits and gravy and they were so good. I highly recommend. They also have some serious friend pickles! Oh they were so good! Also their sauce that comes with the pickles taste just like Zesty sauce and went well with the friend pickles. Our server was very nice and kind and Bill the host was also kind to us asking about us and wanting to know more. We definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I shared the 4 Oz lobster tail/steak meal with baked potato and chicken soup. The lobster tail was best good but the steak seemed like a combo of steak and chopped steak. Good nonetheless. The vodka martini was unexpectedly good.
It didn’t really feel like a diner l like the ones I used to frequent in NY and NJ. It was more like a traditional American restaurant. We had no issues with the service. The price was reasonable.

Very nice staff, food was excellent and the decor takes you back to the 70’s? There’s lots of seating and the prices were decent for the quality and amount of food you get. We’ll definitely be back. There’s more menu items we want to try. There’s lots of free parking and easy to find from the main road.

Frequent this diner a lot for over 20 years. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all excellent. Bill the manager is friendly and on the ball. Ask for server Bre, she is the best! Food is always great and hot. Love the salmon and burgers. Great atmosphere and plenty of parking.

Within walking distance of the hotel, I have gone there twice in the past week & I am sure I will go at least one more time this next week. There menu is huge! From there create your own breakfast, to bringing a friend to brunch, trying there outstanding appetizer along with there full course dinners, it’s a lot to choose from. Plus they have a beer, wine, liquor & dessert menu too! Also the decor of the restaurant is vintage and classic. The atmosphere is quite with oldies playing in the background. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is well kept & clean.

Hands down the best mom-and-pop style diner in Fort Myers. We visit regularly, and it never misses. From the warm meet-and-greet to the consistent quality of the food, everything is done right. The hospitality here is genuine, the portions are solid, and the food is always on point.
Bill is an absolute professional—attentive, friendly, and efficient every single time. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do, and it shows in both the service and the atmosphere.
If you want great food, fair prices, and a classic diner experience done the right way, this is the spot. We truly appreciate the service and will keep coming back.

I stopped by the Fort Myers Mel’s Diner on 2026 Valentine’s Day evening for a slice of their other worldly chocolate cake and wasn’t at all disappointed. Mel’s is the local “gold” standard for convenience, courtesy and quality. The Team was ready, willing and able to assist even though Bill wasn’t spotted at his usual post. Maybe because I was getting my decadence to go. Don’t tarry and hustle on over to your local Mel’s for every meal time and you certainly won’t ever be disappointed.

Went here earlier in the week (we visited in the Summer and Easter too).
Was quieter than usual but the food and atmosphere were outstanding, as ever. We love Mel’s Diner and go here everytime we visit SW Florida. Great food at great prices and the staff are always friendly.
Highly recommend

As soon as my husband and I walked in the door the atmosphere was great, with Bill being extremely pleasant and up beat! The service was quick and very polite and the food was an absolute hit! These diners make you wish they were everywhere instead of all the commercialized places nowadays. Can’t wait to come back again!
