I love the diner atmosphere in general, so I had to try this place while in town. When we parked, the place has the traditional diner exterior, but it has unfortunately been beat to hell by the weather. My husband said it appears to be hail damage. We didn’t let it discourage us from going in, and I’m so glad we did. The place was clean, the wait staff was friendly, and the food was excellent! Honestly, I didn’t have much expectation because diners are hit or miss. This one was a hit. Food tasted good, and we got our money’s worth. If you’re in Fremont, and looking for a simple affordable place for a good meal, give this place a try. Unfortunately due to stomach issues, I had to keep it simple- grilled chicken and fries. Chicken was juicy, and not over done. The husband had a club sandwich. DIL had a chicken BLT salad, and let me tell you, if I wasn’t having stomach issues, I would have gone for that. She said it was very good, and a nice sized salad. The son tried the Mexican wrap, and he loved it. All of our food and drinks totalled $57, which was very fair.

I eat here often enough to know today isn’t how they always do business. I came in with my girlfriend and my son, we stood around waiting to be seated for about 5mins, wasn’t really packed and plenty of open tables. After we were seated the waitress came took our drink orders, and got the drinks pretty fast. It was the food that was the main issue. We waited 40mins for food. My son ordered a cheeseburger and it came with no bun and no cheese, just a patty on the plate. I order a steak with their famous fried potatoes, my steak was cold but cooked right, the potatoes were still hard and had no seasoning as advertised. My girlfriend also had the steak and hers was also cold. All plates were served with knives but no silverware. Fairly priced for the amount of food we received

Nice 50’s style diner with good food, friendly staff and decent service. The vibe was fun and looking at all the movie quotes across the top of the room was fun. I’d go again. Omelets were fantastic!

I’m not from the Fremont area but I try to schedule my travels in order to be near Mel’s around meal time. Breakfast or lunch, I’ve been there for both and it’s always been very good. Not only good food, also good portions and service is top notch.

Warning!! ALERT!!! I recently ate at this diner. The price was $15.29. Not to bad for breakfast. However, I added an extra $3 on the receipt for a tip. I got a text message this morning from cash app saying the restaurant upgraded the tip and took the total cost up to $22.08. Someone added more tip onto my cost and the tip i left. UPDATE…. this was not a fraudulent matter. The lady that put the daily receipts into the computer did this by accident. There was another customers receipt right next to mine with the exact same amount so it appears it was done by accident and the manager fixed it. It is a great place to eat with really good food and great service. I will be happy to eat there again.
