Great little local diner, coffee shop, and bakery!
My wife and I stopped here for lunch. Great food and lots of options. Prices are reasonable and they give good portion sizes.
I went back later to grab an iced latte and piece of peach pie. All good!
They also had a good variety of cookies, muffins, cakes, and pies to offer.
Thanks!

Cute trendy, bustling cafe with a large menu. Cheese steak and strawberry chicken salad were both great. Free iced coffee on Wednesdays was a fun surprise. Would come again if I lived nearby. Long line to enter at lunch time, but it moved quickly, though they could use another waitress. Food came out surprisingly quickly, especially considering how busy they were. Only downside is that it is extremely loud, and servers occasionally yell across tables to other patrons because it’s so loud. If this gives you anxiety you may want to get carryout. It got considerably quieter near closing time.

Mel’s is hands down my favorite breakfast place in Montoursville. They also have a great lunch menu. The owners are hands on in the café and all their additional staff are wonderful. Great small town vibes. If you’ve been here more than once, they probably know your name and your order. They do daily food specials for both breakfast and lunch and have a daily coffee flavor as well as a seasonal drink menu with multiple specialty latte and chai options.

Everything about this place was spot on. Our server was very attentive and our meals were delicious and very filling. I ordered the cod tacos and they did not disappoint. It even came with chips and my choice of one side. I’ll definitely go back.

Very nice and cozy cafe in downtown Montoursville! The drink selections are amazing and breakfast was good and filling with some of the biggest pancakes you will find in the area. They also have a nice selection of local jams and honey and a very nice bakery display area.

Great coffee, food and service with a lovely atmosphere.
Three years later: Don’t sit at outside tables if you want same courteous & friendly service as in restaurant. Had to go inside to order. We paid & tipped before food arrived. Had to ask twice for table to be wiped off. Food was at least delivered to table but no one ever checked back. Food however is still delicious. We had the Strawberry Spinach salad. I highly recommend But because of so-so service If I could I would remove one of my five stars.

Mel’s is a nice diner spot to check out for breakfast. It’s not a big location and it gets very crowded towards the end of the time they stop serving breakfast (11am). When we went, it seemed as though only 3 staff were working. Subsequently, it took a little while to get our food and be seated. Staff were still nice though. Food wise, quality french toast and a good egg scramble for me. Also, they had a lot of homemade jams, jellies, pies, and other items. Will return.
