Didn’t get a chance to try the jerk nacho because it was hair in it.(on the inside part of the tray)The sandwich had so much oil you could fill a small styrofoam cup.The chocolate cake was dry. I called and she said they don’t do refunds but I can get my order replaced I’d rather not get anything else from you all.

My daughter treated me to lunch today here. We ordered a hoagie and a steak sandwich. They both were absolutely amazing!! And the plain lays went perfectly with our sandwiches. The sweet steak tasted just like how I remember from back in the day. And the hoagie was sooo good, seasoned well with that delicious deli oil. The service was nice, the young lady that took our order was nice and attentive and answered questions we had. The food came out fast. Overall it was a 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be returning!!

I love this place! Its clean and the owners are really lovely people!! I got the one and only salmon hoagie that is only available on Sundays!! It was absolutely delicious and freshly made!!! This place is worthy of you coming out to support!!! Food is “slap yo momma” delicious!!!!

Not sure what happened to the small hoagies. Went to the Homewood location today . Less meat and the bread is thick as hell. Was much better when they were inside the gas station on Vollmer Rd. Wasted my time and gas thinking I was going to enjoy a sandwich today and 1 tomorrow on the plane..Both going in the garbage. Won’t be going back !!! In response to owners response: The bread is thicker or it wasn’t as oiled as it normally is. You have a regular customer that I was with.. I will let her know about your response. She will let you know how she felt about the quality ofthe sandwich as well. Her name is Tammy and she always buy sandwiches for us to eat on our trips. But anyway, you enjoy your day…

I was in the area for business and I stumbled upon this restaurant and when I went in, I stated that my bar for hoagies was set high because of a previous hoagie business that moved to Texas was a “10”. I was assured that I would not be disappointed and they would exceed the previous standard. I was like OK blah blah blah. My order was ready quickly (always a plus) and when I tasted my Turkey hoagie….”WOW” I found a new home!!! The sandwich was flavorful and didn’t disappoint, now I have a new standard because the bar has been raised. Mel’s is a 11 of 10

Great turkey Sammy. The wetness was unexpected but now I get why Claire Huxtable used to get on Cliffs case about his hoagies… meat, cheese and veggies JUST TO HOLD THE OIL on the sandwich. SO Good

I just finished the Zello steak sandwich. Truth be told, it finished me! This sandwich was delicious and so filling! The staff was fast and friendly, even to Packer fans!!!

Will be my ABSOLUTE LAST visit! 1st: the atmosphere is completely unprofessional with explicit music playing LOUDLY! Zero professionalism! 2nd: the woman “order taker” had a sour attitude completely.
3rd: I asked her to add extra oil & Mayo on my sandwich, and she did NOT mention that OIL is .50c AND Mayo .25c before charging me. I had her take both charges off. Extra charges for Oil and Mayo?! And NO extra Oil and Mayo is not a charge at the vast majority of places.
Lastly, she had to re-ring up the order since I was paying cash- But never asked which method I’m paying. After all of that – My $10 sandwich was just Ok. Btw, ONLY White bread served, zero Wheat bread. I would have had greater service and greater satisfaction going to Subway!
Sadly -attempts at supporting Black owned business usually ends up unpleasant.
I went at the suggestion of a co-worker – definitely never again!
