We were from out of town, and as soon as we walked in, the drunks at the bar all stared us down like we weren’t welcome. We sat down in the dining area, and it took forever for anybody to come to the table. We placed our drink order, but the bartender/waitress seemed more focused on the other patrons. We assumed they were locals. Another lady finally brought us menus but just walked away. I stepped outside to answer a phone call, and my buddies stayed inside. After several minutes of waiting, nobody ever came back to the table, so my friends paid for the drinks and kindly left. The loud drunks at the bar were very obnoxious and annoying. I hope that this was just a bad experience for us, and not all out of towners are treated this way. I love to go to the out of the way places, because you can find some of the best food and the best atmosphere. This was not one of those times.

What a nice bar. It’s located across the street from Brandon Meats. It it ran by a family. I was there for live music. Accoustic performance from Michael Scott, he is an amazing talent. So if you are going to the butcher, or getting your deer processed across the street, I recommend this for a pit stop. Very family friendly and good service. One last note the place was clean, including the bathrooms. Had a great time. XOXO

I love coming here because the bartenders are always welcoming and friendly. I know when I walk through the door I can relax and get service with a smile. The owners are fun and get to know their customers. The food is good, I especially like the broccoli cheddar nuggets, great pizza, and wraps.

If you like being rushed at your meal by the wait staff because there are other people waiting for a table, or your waitress not putting in your food order for 45 minutes, and then still rushing you, this place is right up your alley. We got there around 5:00pm and ordered and app and adult beverages while we waited for another person. That person was supposed to arrive at 6, but ended up not getting there until about 6:30. Either way, we continued ordering drinks, only to have one of the least professional waitresses tell us that there are other people waiting for a table. She also came at least 3 times and asked if we wanted refils, only to either forget or leave them somewhere else that wasn’t our table. If that wasn’t enough, when we ordered our food at 6:30, the waitress didn’t give the order to the kitchen until close to 7:15. I can’t help but think it was a backhanded way of getting even for us sitting at the table for an hour, even though we were paying customers, actively ordering drinks that weren’t free refils. I didn’t expect to have anything taken off the bill, which is good, because nothing was taken off, wrapping up the horrible experience. The entire time we were there I felt like we were an inconvenience to the entire staff. This was driven home by another customer when I was waiting to pay, who asked me some questions about the menu, because he could get a waitress or bartender to talk to him. I told him to leave. I’m every disappointed in Mel’s, and will discourage anyone I know from going there.
