Mellow Mushroom in Wilmington is a great spot for delicious pizza in a fun, laid-back atmosphere. The menu has plenty of creative pizza options, and the crust is perfectly baked with lots of flavor. Ingredients taste fresh, and there are good choices for different diets, including vegetarian and gluten-free. The vibe is colorful and relaxed, making it a nice place to hang out with friends or family. Service is friendly, though it can get a bit busy at times, which is the only small reason it’s not a full five stars. Overall, a solid 4.5-star experience and definitely worth a visit!

Food was decent but came out all at once. 2nd time ive been here in a month and they’re still short staffed and that’s understandable to a point but as a single mom when I plan lunch with my kiddos and actually can get an appetizer prior to the main course and then have to ask for things like utensils to eat and refills….. it wasn’t even that busy. At all at all. Of course i still tipped. But my waitress seemed annoyed. And my kids have manners and we clean up after ourselves so she barely had to clean up after us. I felt bad for going here now that I think about it. Lunch shouldn’t be an inconvenience. I’ll go to wrightsville or oleander next time they choose mellow mushroom as a go to.

My server had recently turned 21 and not only did she go out of her way to look up the key notes in a local brew I ordered, she was attentive and never had to write a single thing down, my water glass was always full and everyone else was super friendly. Very disappointed with the visit to Yellow Mushroom Pizza
My family and I decided to spend the evening of November 4th at this restaurant. We arrived at 9:30 PM and were told they were closing at 10. The waitress was clearly uninterested in serving us, which immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. We decided to order two cocktails and a pizza to go, so as not to disturb the staff.
They brought us two cocktails. One of them was so sweet that it was undrinkable. I apologized, didn’t drink it, and returned it, asking for a replacement. They brought another cocktail, but it had no alcohol in it—just water with grenadine. We went to the bar to discuss the situation, and the bartender was extremely rude. When I asked her not to speak to me so harshly, she became even more unpleasant. Instead of apologizing or fixing the issue, she poured half a bottle of Tito’s vodka into my glass without asking. I told her I wasn’t going to drink it and asked to pay only for the cocktail without alcohol, but she refused to charge me for the drink.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the bartender said, “My boss will be very unhappy that I’ve poured so much Tito’s for you.” I never asked for that.
No apologies, no proper service. All we received was rude behavior and disrespect. This was the worst experience I’ve had in years of dining out. We left without drinking the cocktails. This incident ruined our entire evening. I will never return to this place, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. With such customer treatment, no one would want to come back.

This is the first burger I have eaten in months after a surgery and I must tell you it’s AMAZING. It’s not over seasoned or over cooked. I did not eat pizza but I will say that my child gave the pizza a 10 out of 10!!!!
Our server Abby was delightful and very patient whilst everything on the menu looked so delicious we had a hard time deciding on our dinner. The prices are little bit higher ( by maybe a dollar or two) than your fast food places but worth even more than what I actually paid. Your entire family would enjoy the laid back cozy environment and exceptional food.

Just seems they cannot get things right. No matter how many chances we give them. We live nearby and each of the last three visits over 8 months have been problematic. Earlier today, we sat outside on a beautiful Jan. day. A Saturday @ 4pm, not even during a heightened busy time. Two people; two entrees. One entree (wings) was brought to table some 12 minutes before the other (an individual pizza). ‘Cuz I’d rather you have warm wings than cold’, our server explained. Sure. Logical. But, how about these two people get their food AT THE SAME TIME? Hmmm. Just sayin’.
And even then, still no setups so my husband ends up licking off his fingers cuz he didn’t even have a napkin. Food’s always good but their problem is timing? organization? basic kitchen management? We spoke with both the server and manager, both apologetic, and they comped two of our drinks. Appreciated, but sooo not the point.
Even after this, they couldn’t even handle the cash transaction accurately and shorted my change $10 until I pointed it out. Again, they apologized and made it right. If I’d wanted to work for my meal, I’d just stay home to eat.
Examples like this continue to happen—for both dine-in and takeout. It’s unacceptable , and seems they’re not learning from their own errors and problems or doing better. We’re done at the location. Too bad for all.

Tough to get a seat at most restaurants at peak times, but this one was surprisingly easy. The food was amazing!! I pizza with everything on it and it was great! My daughter had the best vegan pizza she’s ever had here!! Hubby had an Italian sandwich and tots and also loved his food

So… the lunch special that is TWO slices of pizza typically comes with two actual slices of pizza. Hahaha. NOT TODAY!!! Today, it was obvious it was just one slice of pizza cut down the middle. The atmosphere at this Mellow Mushroom is quite joyful. It is a very spacious restaurant in a great location with an awesome fun loving vibe. The seating is very comfortable and there is a nice bar to the left upon entering. The pizza selections are vast and the crust is really delicious in taste and texture. This is a really pleasant and delicious place to dine with family and friends. Staff is really super.
