Chose this place on a whim, based on the name and the fact that there are fresh ingredients. A definite win! Delicious pizza, an healthy helping of cheese, and the dough and crust were fantastic – light and airy – fresh! Enjoyed the Gaelic ale as well. Our server, Sabrina was super pleasant and helpful. We’ll be back next time we’re at the beach!

YAY VEGAN OPTIONS! They’ve got vegan cheese, tempeh for protein, and all the veggies. Love having plant based cruelty free options. This place is super packed on weekends so plan accordingly. Parking lot full and ppl waiting to be seated. Pick up order took about 45 min. To-go dude was communicative and friendly.

This was some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten – highly recommended! The flavors are so unique and unforgettable. I had the bruschetta appetizer, the Holy Shiitake Pie pizza, and some wings, and everything was extremely flavorful – the kind of taste that’s hard to find and impossible to forget. The wait time was short, and the drinks were also very tasty. Our server, Joe, was incredibly kind and gentle, the type of person who makes you feel right at home and among family.

I had a really disappointing experience at Mellow Mushroom (1571 21st Ave N).
I usually order to-go because the last time I sat at the bar, my food came out cold. I decided to give them another chance and dine in this time, but unfortunately, it was even worse.
When I walked in, the young woman at the front (blonde, curly hair) was in a heated conversation on her cell phone. I waved to get her attention, and she rolled her eyes at me. She continued pacing back and forth, in and out of the kitchen, while finishing her call before finally helping me.
When she approached, she pushed the menu toward me with an obvious attitude. I told her I already knew what I wanted: a large pizza with vegan cheese, which I’ve ordered there many times before. She immediately responded that they “don’t have vegan pizzas.” I explained that I order it regularly and would like a large pie with vegan cheese. She repeated, again with attitude, that they don’t have it. I clarified that I wanted to build my own with vegan cheese — which is what I was trying to say from the beginning. She then rudely took the order, walked away, and yelled back, “And what to drink?”
At that point, after being treated so poorly, I declined a drink. I stepped away to the restroom and decided it was best to just leave altogether. The service was so unwelcoming and disrespectful that I didn’t feel comfortable staying.
Sadly, this explains why the bar area often seems empty. Customer service makes all the difference, and this experience completely missed the mark.

It was my first time at Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Myrtle Beach, and it was a total vibe! The pizza’s flavor is OFF the charts – crust was perfectly crispy, sauce had that sweet tang, and the toppings? Fresh and fabulous. But what really stole the show was the atmosphere – super chill, artsy vibes, and outdoor seating with a fun Myrtle Beach twist. Great spot to grab a pie and hang!

This is my new favorite food spot. Ironically, we have a Mellow Mushroom in my hometown, but I’d never visited. After this experience, I will most definitely be visiting our location. The food was excellent, and Bryan, our server, was top tier. He was extremely attentive and kind. Ask for him if you go; you won’t regard it. We will be going once more before heading home – that’s just how good it was to experience.

It had been awhile since I’ve come here and it’s not what it used to be. It was me and one other table in the entire place and my food took way too long. You can see the open kitchen from the dining area and there was no sense of urgency from the kitchen staff. The pizza was not that great. I had about 3 inches of cheese on it and super thin crust. I had to rip everything off and just eat crust.

I had an incredible dining experience at Mellow Mushroom tonight! The service was outstanding, truly the best I’ve encountered in the area. Our server, JIMMY, took care of my family of six flawlessly. His personality was absolutely amazing—so friendly and attentive! He made sure our drinks were always full, and we never had to ask for anything.
The level of service JIMMY provided was far superior to what I’ve received at many fine dining restaurants. If you visit, I highly recommend requesting Jimmy or Brooke as your server. They go above and beyond to make your meal enjoyable. The teamwork they display is truly something to commend!! Thank you, Jimmy, and Brooke for your incredible service!!!

We visited this restaurant in early October 2025 while having a little vaca in Myrtle Beach. We all enjoyed everything we ordered and found the same tasty quality as our local mellow mushroom.
I especially want to compliment our server Sabrina. She was very friendly and patient with our 6 yo daughter who loves to chat with anyone. She also had some recommendations for activities and sights in the area which were very helpful. Her service was also excellent.
