Enjoyed a quiet midweek dinner on a cold January evening. It is in the old Taft brewery building and some of the features have been retained but I feel the modern furniture is at odds with the old building giving it a daytime cafe vibe rather than a cosy evening. Food was ok but unremarkable. Service was excellent.

The work done here to make sure a brewpub is in place has been fantastic. A great spot for just about any occasion. We stopped in after a show at Music Hall/Memorial Hall. Fortunately it was not too crowded. Had a meal and a flight of their beer. The beer was very well done with a good variety to choose from. Food was tasty with sandwiches, small plates and appetizers available. Friendly and attentive service.

Just a really cool atmosphere that maintains the OTR feel while providing a modern update.

The Mellotone Beer Project offers a unique and thoughtful dining experience nestled within a beautifully repurposed 1800s church. The building itself is a visual treat, soaring ceilings, glass accents, wrought iron and historic bones that blend seamlessly creating a modern and sleek decor. It’s a space that strikes a rare balance between old-world charm and contemporary style.

The brunch menu, while relatively simple in its offerings, is elevated through refined presentation and carefully considered flavors. Every plate feels hand crafted and not overdone, but sophisticated in its execution. You can tell the kitchen respects quality while putting a creative spin on a few brunch basics.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere pays tribute to Cincinnati’s deep brewing and distilling roots. From the craft beer selection to the thoughtful design elements, the Mellotone Beer Project feels like a quiet nod to the city’s industrial past, wrapped in a clean, modern-day package. It’s a place where you can appreciate history while enjoying a well-poured pint and a beautifully plated meal.

We went before the FC match. The chicken sandwich and wings were fantastic. The BBQ wings are a bit spicy. The bartender was very friendly and the stout on draft was good. Even though it was crowded we got our food pretty quickly. It was our first time there and we definitely enjoyed it.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Mellotone. We walked in and were immediately impressed at the expansive beer and beautiful interior. We didn’t have reservations so went down to the bottom floor bar, which was cozy and intimate. The cucumber salad and beer/citrus salad were amazing. Paired nicely with the drinks. I’d give it two thumbs up and definitely come back!

Mellotone was very accommodating. Jen squeezed us in despite of having a busy day and made sure that we’re going to be able to celebrate two of our friend’s birthday today. The bartenders and servers were very professional and friendly. We tried all of the food in the menu. The pork belly skewers and the dry rub chicken wings was phenomenal! You guys have to try the Pain killer cocktail as well. It was very good that I ended up drinking 8 glasses of it. They also allowed us to bring a birthday cake and have a room where my friends can open their birthday gifts. Overall, everything was perfect and I highly recommend this place not just to my friends and family but also to everybody. We will definitely come back.

By the way, the upper level really gives you that old church with Hugh ceiling vibe which is very cool. We took good pictures there. The main level looks very chic and classy. But if you wanted to have that loungey vibe, go check their lower level.

Everything was just perfect. Thank you again Mellotone and Jen for everything. We had a great time. ❤️❤️❤️

Love lots,
Aè and my Filipino groups of friends.

Everything we ordered was excellent. The swordfish was perfectly cooked. The olive oil cake has excellent flavor and was not too sweet. The squash croquettes were crispy but not over cooked. The Urban Stead whipped cheese was a perfect complement. The service was great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The beers we had (the hazy IPA and stout) were very nicely balanced.

Amazing food, so many menu items unlike anything I have had elsewhere. Staff were super lovely and chilled but attentive.

The 4x beers I tried (Kolsch, American Pale Ale, IPA, Hazy) are honestly the best I have ever had!

What a delight! 100% recommend!

Incredible venue with fantastic food and an in-house beer selection. Everything we tried was very tasty, but the star was the squash croquettes! The vibe of Melltone is casual and cool with the service also being excellent. This would be a great spot to take friends or family from out of town to enjoy great food and drinks in a relaxed environment!
