Found through the “Find Me Gluten Free” app — love this gem of a bakery in Santa Cruz. The team here was very kind — appreciated the samples of the cinnamon roll and brownie available to visitors. The hot sandwich options were a lovely surprise — tried the Turkey with havarti and the vegan veggie (contradictory selections for sure). Also grabbed some puff pastry goodies (bear claw, chocolate croissant, and morning glory muffin). The team member recommended some of the vegan versions of these selections — it was a welcome perspective. Overall, the creations are delicious — very surprised by the crunchy outside texture and the chewy/moist centers. The brownies were a bit too dense for my taste and the cinnamon roll a bit too chewy, but it is definitely worth the visit. Prices felt a bit high, but understand that cost to create gluten free treats is rising — just don’t expect this to be an inexpensive outing.

Finding gluten free and vegan baked goods is nearly impossible. They have DELICIOUS treats and I look forward to a visit every time I go to Santa Cruz. Next time I’m going to buy a dozen donuts and freeze them so I can have something to tide me over until the next trip!

I can’t say enough about this gem near the coast .. My absolute favorite Gluten-Free bakery with Vegan options as well. They have limited hours and are popular, so go early to ensure you get your pick of all the sweet and savory treats! The maple doughnut and ham and cheese croissant are a must! These folks work so hard-tip them well!!!

We went in right before closing, so our choices were limited. That is to be expected at any bakery. The later you go, the less they will have. We were excited to try their baked goods. It is not always easy to find a gluten free bakery. We purchased 2 bear claws, 1 chocolate croissant, 1 chocolate donut, and one croissant. We did not care for the bear claws. They were extremely dry, dense, and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The chocolate and regular croissants were delicious! It’s difficult to find a good gluten free croissant that actually tastes like a croissant. The chocolate donut tasted very good, but the texture was not exactly what we expected. I am sure that had a lot to do with being gluten free. I would like to be able to try some of their other items to see what they are like. Everyone’s tastes are different, so just because I didn’t care for the bear claws doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t. Gluten free bakeries are rare, so we need to support them as much as possible.

I’m not sure why it took me this long to find Melinda’s. Even though I changed to gluten free not long ago (to improve some health issues), I love bakeries of all sorts and I’m always open to trying new and different flavors, so I was delighted to find this gem.

Tastiest gluten-free baked goods you’ll ever find. A bit pricey but worth it. The GF croissants are amazing! My only complaint is that they have been baking them too long lately. Right on the edge of being burnt. I got two recently that I just threw out sadly. $10 down the drain. 🙁

I came to Melinda’s because it was convenient and sounded interesting, don’t care about the gluten free aspect. Their GF donut is tasty, heavier and much more moist than a conventional cake donut. These are baked not deep fried. I think my other item was a croissant, it was ok. They don’t have any seating so don’t come here expecting to chill for a while.

Such an amazing place! Great quality products that are gluten free (some dairy free as well) and taste great! Love their apple danish. And their donuts are always a must have. The service is really friendly and knowledgeable as well!
