We had dinner at Melfi’s just after Christmas to celebrate the holidays. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was excellent, however the food was a bit forgettable. With Italian spots in Charleston like Sorelle, Wild Olive, and even Indaco, Melfi’s felt like it was lacking anything stand-out or unique. The prices are at a tier where the whole experience should be exciting, however nothing we had felt even worthy of a photo as the plating was messy and the dishes lacked presentation. The pasta was good, but not worth over $30 per dish. We shared a few dishes including the Paccheri, Mr. Wally pizza, Osso Bucco, and a Spicy Caesar salad. Everything was good, but it lacked any dimension of innovation or individuality that would bring me back to Melfi’s again. The whole experience felt a bit overpriced and ordinary.

Best Italian I have had since leaving Italy ! We started off with the Bianco pizza which was outstanding and great to share as an appetizer. For entrees, I got the cacio e Pepe which as outstanding which I was reminded the next day when I had it for leftovers. My fiancé got the spaghetti which had shrimp and he loved it as well. Our server was Randall and he was the best !!! Super amazing service and made the experience so nice.

6 or 10 out of 5. What fabulous simple yet sublime food. Worth going to Charleston just to eat at Melfi’s wine service was 5 star. Service was just so understated. So gentle. I am not going into the food because it was all so ridiculously good. So amazing.

This was our first visit to Melfi’s and we went on our anniversary. The staff made it such a nice evening to celebrate and even offered a prosecco toast for each of us. The service was great, atmosphere was perfect, and the food was incredible delicious (especially the Bianco and the pasta). We can’t wait to come back!

I truly enjoyed the grilled branzino. The skin was grilled to perfection with a beautiful crisp, and the fennel salad paired wonderfully with the dish. The service was excellent, and I will definitely be coming back.

My biggest regret about eating at Melfi’s was that I didn’t come in sooner. My husband and I were blown away by the food. The atmosphere was vibrant and upscale…Perfect for a date night or special occasion. The spicy ceasar was hands down the best ceasar salad we’ve had. The arancini was delicious, dirty martini well balanced, but the pasta was the star of the show. We got the bolognese and bucatini and couldn’t pick a favorite. My husband was ready to come back the next day. Thank you, Melfi’s!

We truly enjoyed our time at Melfi’s. The sauce was so fresh and bursting with delightful hints of basil that really brought out the flavor. The Manager went above and beyond with her excellent service, making our experience all the more enjoyable. We definitely recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

We make a visit to Melfi’s anytime we visit Charleston. The whole experience is excellent. The staff does a job great. The menu has lots of authentic Italian pasta, pizza, and entrees. You can’t miss no matter what you get. Don’t sleep on the spicy Caesar salad to start.

First time here and will definitely return. The outdoor patio is beautiful and quiet with some light background music playing. Highly recommend, we got lucky with beautiful weather for a January evening. Inside is a nice vibe too, dim lighting.
Server whose name I’m forgetting was absolutely wonderful (she mentioned being the youngest one, 23).
Wife and I split the Spicy Caesar (it’s not that spicy), Bianco Pizza, the Spaghetti dish with Shrimp, and the olive oil & sea salt gelato. Plenty of food for two. The chef asks that you do not make any substitutions, but would’ve loved the shrimp pasta dish with the Bucatini instead of Spaghetti. No problem though it was great nonetheless.

Excellent food and excellent service. We sat at a bar top facing the kitchen which was cool. The Caesar salad was phenomenal and a must try. As an entree I got the PACCHERI. It was delicious. Tiramisu, Chocolate gelato, and espresso were excellent as well. Wonderful experience all around.
