BEST burgers & onion rings ever!! Burgers were cooked& seasoned PERFECTLY. I ordered the juicy Lucy with jalapenos. The BEST brioche bun too.AMAZING!! Hubby ordered the sweet-heat blueburger. Topped with berry jalapeno jelly, candied jalapenos, blue cheese on a pretzel.bun. Not spicy at all, just PERFECT!! This has easily made my top 3 burger spots. The ONION RINGS… Never had any better! Service was OUTSTANDING!!! Wish I would have found Meisters sooner!! A MUST EAT at place. A+

We went there last night on our way home..solely based off this post. We are extremely passive people and appreciate hard workers and applaud great service and setting. It was cramped..ok..no big deal. Sat down in a booth by the bathroom. Don’t ever sit there because the booth behind…when people are in it..its like sitting in an airplane chair and a little kid kicking your back the entire time. Our drinks were served…and our orders were taken promptly to be fair…but once our food was brought to the table, my husband ordered the jucy lucy..it was the size of a slider for one. Hardly any cheese. Oh..well. my liver and onions were hard as a rock.she never came back to check or refill our drinks..then when she did come back and I physically showed her how hard it was by cracking my knife on it..she said sorry..then took my plate and came back and little later and threw our bill on the table and walked away. Said not a word. We paid the $37 bucks and away we went. There was a lady sitting on a table next to us..I could see her listening to our conversation..black hair in a pony tail and glasses…I watched her walk up to the waitress and whisper to her, so and motioned to us..watching the servers “eye roll” was the clincher. Really made me feel like I was to blame…..I gathered that they knew eachother well. which just shortly after is when our check was thrown on the table. When I let her know about my dinner..and physically showed her..I was extremely nice and to be honest, I never would even have said a word..but it really was unprofessional and made to feel this was our fault. And the fact that she didn’t even come back to ask if we needed any drinks or water..how our meal was…But having been in the food industry for years prior..the lack of care really was disappointing. My son had called us on the way home..I was telling him about it..he said, oh yeah..my buddies and I don’t go there anymore. It used to be good, but has gone downhill. So..take it how you want..our 1st experience is the last and won’t be recommending. It’s a shame. We’ve been to Meisters in stillwater and that was great but I won’t go to the Scandia one again.

Dropped in on a a Saturday afternoon for a drink and a late lunch. Our amiable waitress promptly took our food and drink orders. The place was fairly busy with groups of people enjoying being out and about on a nice Spring afternoon. I had the half Broasted Chicken, the wife had a California burger. The Broasted chicken was slightly overcooked, batter over browned and the chicken slightly dried out. The fries were fresh made, never frozen, the beans were sweetened baked beans with 2 kinds of beans- delicious! The burger was ordered with fried onions, but they were applied to less than half of the burger, enough that after her first few bites she thought that they were forgotten.
This bar is built in a century old mercantile store, with the original floor and ceilings preserved. Very Rustic, great atmosphere. This location is located in Scandia, a quaint old farming community in Eastern Washington County near the St. Croix River. There is a pioneer museum, antique shops and an old Creamery here. It’s like being in a turn of the 20th Century farming community. A great destination if you’re out wandering up and down the West side of the river looking for a fine place to take a dining break.

Probably the worst food I’ve ever tried to eat. I ordered Philly cheesesteak and onion rings. The Philly was dry and tasteless, it was horrible. The onion rings were over cooked greasy and tasted horrible. I told the server I could not eat them because how bad they were. I asked to get a Cole slaw in replacement, and she brings me a small little cup that ketchup would go in. I then get the bill. It shows no line items or a sub total, just a total. $35 for a chicken sandwich and of course what I ordered. If you think you may be helping the servers by not showing a subtotal, you’re not. You’re only hurting them. It may be an ok place to stop for a beer, but as far as food, keep driving.

Went there on a Thursday evening, called in advance to see if we needed reservation and they said there should be a lot of space. Went there and there wasn’t a lot of space. We had an event at the winery and I mentioned this to the server to make sure that we would not be late to our event. She said dinner takes about 25 minutes with the current ticket load but if we ordered appetizers it would be much quicker. So we ordered appetizers and waited over a half hour making us slightly late to our event which is the reason for four stars over five. Inside is very noisy. Outside was filled with smokers. Decent enough appetizers, but disappointed for the wait and being late to the winery.

My wife and I are moving to Scandia so we decided to stop in for a burger on Saturday. First of all I want to start off by saying the food was really good so that’s why I’m giving it a 4 star rating. The service and time it took to get our food was not the best however. When we got there only 3 tables were occupied so business wasn’t exactly booming but it took 45 minutes for us to get two burger baskets with two cooks in the kitchen. I usually always give places 5 stars especially when I know the place is working really hard to satisfy the customer but during this time frame your staff was not. We will be back, as I said the food was quite good but the customer service has a ways to go to earn my fifth star.

Great find. The German Nachos were a highlight. Daughter loved the blackened salmon sandwich. Other stuff was all above average.

Extremely slow service. It was a nice weather Thursday. I think there was 1 person covering the bar and waiting on all the tables. Lunch was 2 hours from the time we walked in until we left. Food was alright. Nothing special. The tables are so close together we couldn’t get by anyone to sit down. I
