I ate there for many years. Know the whole family became really good friends of mine. Has the best ever Egg Rolls second to none. The rest of their food is also excellent. Got to know the owners real well they are very caring people & won’t let anybody go away hungry. my favorite was the Shrimp stir fry. Thanks Eric Undem

long wait for delivery, over an hour but I wasn’t too upset given we ordered just before 5p on a weekend, so I expected a wait, but the food didn’t arrive until 6:15p, for being about 2mi away that’s a pretty steep wait.

once food arrived it was warm but all tasted really off. last time we got their food my wife was up sick all night, we gave benefit of the doubt and ordered this time hoping it was just our stomachs or a fluke… but no, The twice cooked Pork was about 75% wilted and browning Cabbage with an odd taste that I wish I’d noticed before scarfing down a small portion.. Additionally the Orange Chicken, while it did have a strong(almost too much so) Orange flavor, it was cooked so overdone that it was hard to chew. Almost a Jerky consistency under the breading.. we both felt our stomachs doing back flips within 10 minutes, ended up having to toss everything. Because we have gotten ill before this is officially on the “avoid this restaurant” list for our household.

Overall the food was an expensive, time consuming mistake. If you’re absolutely craving Chinese takeout, eat frozen from grocery. Will taste same and not get you sick.

Mei Dong Garden is a small, family owned Chinese restaurant with delicious food! We order take out here at least monthly. This place has a bad reputation because the buffet isn’t popular so the food may not be the freshest. Order takeout or dine in and you will be amazed. This isn’t LeAnn Chin or Panda Express this is delicious, homemade Chinese food.

Do NOT go here if you want good food or an inviting place to eat.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch and the buffet was picked over. The egg rolls were horrendous and the rice was dry. The food seemed like it came out of a box and was greasy and luke warm. The restaurant itself was not professional. BUCKETS of soy sauce were stacked in the corner and paper supplies were placed on shelves next to the eating area and not in a back room or somewhere were it didnt make the place look… Trashy.

We were the only two customers at the time, and as we sat and ate I noticed how the tables still had dishes from who knows when strewn about, and there was a worker peeling raw shrimp with his bare hands at one of the tables. It was just offputting.

When my boyfriend went to get more of a certain dish, there wasn’t any left (which happens, fine) but when he asked the woman that I can only assume runs the place, she sent the guy peeling shrimp to the kitchen where he just heated up a small portion and scraped it onto my boyfriend’s plate like a school room cafeteria.

If we hadn’t been as hungry as we were that day, we would have gone to Shakopee to get chinese food, and I wish we had.

On a positive note, the wontons were mediocre.

For a small town Chinese buffet it was ok. The selection was limited to your standard Chinese entrees that usually score big with MN Chinese Restaurant goers. They had Sesame Chicken(Very Good), Broccoli Chicken(Didn’t Try it), the standard pork dish served with an over abundance of mushrooms(it was Ok), and of course Happy Family( this was also ok). None of it had much flavor, perhaps that’s due to the local populations palette tolerance, but it was enjoyable. The price was super cheap too, $6.67 for the lunch buffet. Chicken on a stick, red chicken, or bbq chicken whatever you call it is usually a staple at these places and this place had nothing to offer, so big miss on their part. Finally the place was very clean however their was a child actually doing some of the work and he also setup shop in a booth out in the dining area. When I see that I always find it a little uncomfortable because I feel like I’m intruding in someone’s home. Overall the experience was ok.

Order take out, picked up and paid. I got almost home (15 min away) and got a call saying they forgot to give me some of my food. Went back, I brought the bag with my food in, she opened the bag I had and took a container out..I asked what she was doing? They hadn’t forgot to give me something, they had given me a extra side of shrimp and wanted it back. No apology, that was it, so i got to drive an extra 15 min and cold food. Not going back.

This is the best Chinese place in the area. I’ve been going for years and have never been disappointed. They deliver, have a buffet, and have take out. They even have options for people that don’t like Chinese food, that is perfect if someone in your group doesn’t like it and you don’t want to get food from multiple places.

Not impressed. General tso chicken should be spicy not sweet. Lo Mein was bland and meat did not taste right and rubbery texture. I’d rather have traveled farther for some quality.

For nine years this has been my favorite Chinese Food. The family that runs it are very nice people. Love the egg rolls, egg drop soup, chicken lo mein, and beef and broccoli. We always order takeout.

Service is slow, food is not very good. Not busy enough for a buffet to really work. We’ve went several times and I want this place to be good, but it just doesn’t seem to be working out. My kids really like it for some reason, but my wife and I try to avoid it.
