Beautiful Indian Buffet with friendly staff!
Food: Vegetarian options were prepared very well. They have just the right amount of spice to be enjoyed with fluffy naan and steaming basmati rice. We enjoyed each dish and sauces very much.
Service: Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was surprised that most of the customers seem to know him very well. Good sign if there are repeat customers.
Ambiance: Plenty of seating. Clean and well lit.
Value: Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. About $50 for 2 people before tip.

I’m fairly new to the area and still looking for my go-to restaurants. The food here is amazing! The samosas were great! The garlic naan was divine! Light, airy and fluffy! It was so aromatic and delicious! We had the mixed grill platter and everything was perfectly cooked! The palak paneer was also very good. The portions were huge and the value was terrific. The service was attentive. I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for the buffet and we finally made it! We have heard this is the best Indian-Pakistani food in East Contra Costa County, and now we know it’s true. We did not make it in time for the buffet, that ends at 3pm, but that didn’t matter because we ordered several dishes and shared it all. Delish!!! Some dishes were spicy (which I love), some were more savory or slightly sweet. We had plenty of leftovers because the portions were large. I also love the location because we can meet friends from over the hill right in the middle. Plenty of parking, and a good neighborhood and area. We also found out they have an event center for parties and they serve American food as well. I have to mention our waiter had the best personality and we learned so much just chatting with him. What a wonderful experience! I can’t wait to go back.

Update: back here for 3-4 times in past months, big improvement in food supply at the buffet. Simply best $20 lunch in the 10-mile area. The best of two worlds: Indian Food and BEEF. Definitely recommended.

Food availability is a matter of timing and chance. When it’s good, it’s very good.
Service has also improved much. Upgrading to 4 of 5 stars.
Update: Reducing score from 3 to 1. Arrived just before 1 PM. A party of 6. The buffet is empty of all the chicken/ meat dishes. See new photos attached. This has been happening recently. It is getting worse.
Update: Reducing score from 5 to 3. I returned a number of times since leaving the review below. Service can be improved. It is lacking: one person do-it-all does not work. Long wait for food (buffet empties quickly), naan and drinks and anything to that effect requires a long wait.
Bathrooms are clean but have fixtures which are broken and inoperable. It is disappointing to return again and again and notice more of the details which are not positive.
Lunch buffet was excellent. Chicken tikka Masala and naan were the highlights.
Service was good too.

I recently had dinner at Mehran Restaurant, and it was fantastic! The food was bursting with flavor—especially the biryani and nihari, which were both perfectly spiced. The portions were big enough to leave me full but still craving more. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. If you’re into authentic Pakistani and Indian food, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Very delicious chicken tikka. One of the best I’ve had in the Bay Area. The tamarind chutney is also prepared very well. The masala flavors in the chicken absorbed very well and the meat is juicy, tender and not overbearing with spice. The beef kabobs were just alright. But I think that’s my personal preference. Solid 4.5 experience.

We celebrated the graduation party recently and catered food from Mehran Restaurant. It was honestly a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and we got so many compliments from our guests throughout the evening.
Working with Nathan made the whole process super smooth. He was great to deal with and very professional, friendly, and made sure everything was delivered just as promised. The food arrived right on time, was set up nicely, and the quality really stood out.
We had over 120 people at the party, and everyone was asking who catered the food. That says a lot! The service team did a wonderful job too. I would definitely recommend Mehran for any event. Huge thanks to Nathan and the team for helping make the celebration such a success!
