I am impressed. This small, unassuming restaurant turns out some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Although there were only a few seated customers, there was a stream of people coming in to pick up takeout orders.
The samosas were hot and crisp and the chutneys were very flavorful. Before I could even finish the first one, the main course arrived. The butter chicken had a tangy, tomato-ey finish and the chicken was tender enough to cut with my spoon. The jeera rice was perfectly cooked; soft, but not soggy. And the garlic naan was coated with ghee (clarified butter).
I’m definitely coming back.

Mehak of India is a hidden gem for anyone craving a tasty and affordable Indian meal. Their $14.99 lunch buffet is simple but flavorful, with a nice balance of options: fluffy rice, three veggie dishes, three meat dishes, plus a cute little salad bar. The complimentary naan comes out hot and fresh, perfect for scooping up all the curries. The buffet also includes free chai tea and those yummy dessert balls (gulab jamun) that are the perfect sweet finish. Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and satisfying without being overly heavy. Great value for the price and definitely worth a visit for lunch!

Mehak provides authentic, high quality Indian food, decent portion sizes, at reasonable prices. This is my go-to spot for Indian food. I can’t count the number of times I’ve ordered food to-go from here, and it’s always fantastic. My favorites are Aloo Gobi, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka, and so many other great choices. The food is prepared with love, and I’ve never had an order any less than fantastic. When I crave Indian food, this is the place we go. I highly recommend Mehak of India.

Their lunch deals can’t be beat, w a very decent portion and a variety of dishes to choose from and freshly made naan included for $12.99 a plate!!! Pay $1 extra for that garlic naan, n u won’t regret it.
Ordered saag chicken & veggie korma for the 1st plate. Both had a decent kick of spice and the sauces were both incredibly flavorful, and the chicken very tender! Got the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken for the 2nd plate, both tasty as you’d expect and the tikka masala sauce, just wow!!
We will return to try their buffet on a weekend!

I’ll be back! I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the naan. The service was excellent! The costs were reasonable for San Jose and the portions were generous.
As a side note, I ordered the garlic naan, but they accidentally brought me the butter naan. After I let them know they brought me out the garlic naan free of charge in addition to the butter naan. It’s the little things that I appreciate most.

Outstanding experience all around, and this is coming from someone who’s extraordinarily picky. When it comes to flavor, freshness, quantity, quality, price, and service, they’ve got it down.
I came here a few times around when they first opened strictly for the buffet, which was quite good, but haven’t been since as I live in a totally different part of town and the buffet had temporarily ended, which I believe was around COVID time.
Anyway, I was in the area and ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan.
The butter chicken and naan came out hotter and fresher than any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. Very impressive first impression.
The naan are large and THOROUGHLY buttered and topped with garlic. They’re superb. I’d prefer if they were a hair softer/easier to break apart, but these are top 3 naan in the Bay without question. 9.5/10
The butter chicken is also a larger than average size portion and also incredibly fresh. The gravy has a wonderful taste and consistency, and the chicken inside is tender and also flavorful, where many restaurants don’t pay much attention to the chicken, they do here. I do have other favorite butter chickens in the Bay but I’d say these guys are worthy of being in the top 5. 9/10

Pass by this Restaurant many time before and been wanting to try so we decided to stopped by for our first time. Signs looks reasonable with their combo meal. I got two chicken combo that come with rice and the Garlic Nan. My friend got everything and added Goat curry. He said it was pretty good. Either that or we have been shopping around in the area all day and we were getting really hungry Overall we had a great experience here.

Ate the buffet here. Butter chicken was well balanced between sweet and spicy. Did not taste too tomato ish, and meat was lean and tender. Same goes for the goat curry – well flavored not overly spicy, and meat was cooked well and nice tender texture. Mixed veg – well it did what it was supposed to. Small restaurant with authentic taste and quality.

Second time visit. My favorite Indian cuisine!!! Tons of meat in curry bowl. Prices are sosososo much reasonable. Definitely try Tandoori Chicken, so tender. Make sure you try butter chicken curry, so flavorful. Garlic naan is the best option to order with curry.!
