Reviews
Today, I stopped by Megumi during their soft opening for lunch, and I have to say, they’re off to a great start. The atmosphere is inviting, with a modern, clean design and a sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi right in front of you. It definitely adds to the experience and makes the place feel authentic and lively.
For appetizers, I ordered the Calamari and Edamame. The calamari was a pleasant surprise—clearly fresh, not frozen calamari strips, which made a big difference in texture and taste. The Edamame was the standard style but still satisfying.
I also tried the Tuna Tataki, which consisted of fresh, raw tuna slices. It had a nice kick to it—spicy enough to be exciting without overwhelming the natural flavor of the tuna. Personally, I enjoyed the heat, but be prepared if you’re not a fan of spice.
For the main course, I went with the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. It was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy steak paired with succulent shrimp, served with classic hibachi sides. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on.
Since it was their soft opening, a few items I originally ordered weren’t quite ready yet, but that’s completely understandable. It just gives me a reason to go back and explore more of their menu when they’re fully up and running.
All in all, Megumi shows a lot of promise. The food quality is impressive, especially for a brand-new spot. I’m looking forward to returning soon to see how they continue to develop and to try the items I missed this time around. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving some good sushi and hibachi!
But it’s not just the ambiance that shines; the staff here are exceptional. They’re not only friendly but also remarkably attentive, ensuring that your every need is met with a smile. And let’s talk about the food—it’s nothing short of fantastic and utterly delicious. I highly recommend trying the habachi and sushi; the taste is exquisite, and the presentation is a work of art in itself.
And if you’re a fan of bubble tea, you’re in for a treat! Their bubble tea is incredibly tasty and the perfect complement to any meal. Trust me, giving this place a try is something you absolutely won’t regret. It’s an all-around delightful experience that’s sure to leave you wanting more!
The food was outstanding!
We got the shumai for an appetizer and we could have eaten a bucket full. I think traditional shumai are just steamed but these were crispy and delicious with a slightly spicy dipping sauce.
We also got a bonsai roll that my wife absolutely loved.
I got the spicy shoyu ramen and my wife got the tonkatsu ramen. Both were excellent and decent size. The spice level was perfect for me, a little much for the wife who doesn’t do spicy much at all. Both had these thin pork strips that had been seared perfectly and really made the dish shine. You can get extra noodles for an extra charge but I don’t know if you could fit much more in there.
We left stuffed and happy.
Definitely going again soon.
