Reviews
The Tonkotsu Ramen was excellent. The noodles had a good texture, and the broth was rich, creamy, and full of porky flavor. The chashu (pork belly) was generously sized, adding a hearty element to the dish.
The Tuna Tataki was a standout, with its freshness and high-quality cut of tuna. The ponzu sauce paired beautifully with the dish, offering a delightful aroma and tangy taste.
The Eel Bowl was another highlight, especially the rice, which had a perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and a slight tartness from the vinegar. While the eel was delicious and thickly cut, the portion size felt a bit small.
Overall, the flavors and quality of the food were impressive. A bit more generous portions on some dishes would make it perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying Japanese dining experience!
My only problem is that they brought a roll that wasn’t ours to the table, but when they took it back, they gave it straight to the correct person. I’m pretty sure that’s like a big health code violation, and they are supposed to remake the roll since other people could have tampered with it (or at the very least breathed on it).
Congratulations if you guys keep it like that you’ll will grow very fast.
We ordered a lot of food and really each of all of them were really good.
I just uploaded a few pictures of it
I originally went to Mandeville as a coworkers recommendation was they perfer the Mandeville location. I agree with this assessment. The Mandeville location is a bit more…. Homely in feel and service tho there’s ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with Covington It just feels more modern vs Mandevilles more traditional approach.
They have most of the same things the Mandeville location has but they seem to have a few different variants of ramen like the cowboy ramen (*depicted) and unknown if this is a menu oversight or just a location difference.
Still amazing sushi even tho I started eating rolls which my favorite was the megumi two roll *highly recommended. I have evolved to more traditional Japanese feel and only eat nigiri sushi now.
Staff is still Uber friendly and helpful. Everything’s neatly presented and taste awesome. I did notice some of the dishes like megumi two have a bit different presentation and look between the locations. But this is also seen in Pink Agave location where in the menu it states different chefs have different personalities which is why the variation.
Unlike the Mandeville location however this location has more tvs to watch sports or something in the meantime and an outdoor service Area to eat.
100% recommended to stop at either locations as I do believe the best sushi and 2nd best ramen spots are at the Two megumi locations…. *yes I believe the sushi here is better than Zen
Went back again for the Nth time! Tried their beef teriyaki for lunch and it was great. Also the korean style ramen was good!
My go to place for Ramen and sushi! Been here several times and can only say good things about this place. Their Ramen is really good, my favorite is the tonkotsu. They serve you soup once you sit down and service is really fast. Huge menu for sushi, anything you can imagine they probably have it! We’ve tried their Drew Brees and Mandeville roll and it was amazing. Huge serving as well! Will surely come back!
Update:
Been here a lot of times. Ordered a few take outs too. Tried the Yaki Niku for the first time and the beef was really tender and great! Seaweed salad serving was really small for 7$ though. Otherwise food is great as always.
