I did my research around the area ahead and locked this sushi restaurant as it has good options and prices.
After visiting the fisherman wharf and the Cannery, we came here for lunch.
The Chirashi Don was nicely packed with dishes. Chicken teriyaki has great portion. I ordered the Mega Sashimi which was nicely presented and good quality fish. I may got more fish for the same price with two Sashimi bento, but those would be more average fish.
Very fresh food, very friendly staff.

EDIT: Returned a couple of times. Have always had excellent sushi here. Had sushi once at a place downtown Richmond and had food poisoning. Made me realize how good the sushi is here at Steveston.
Always come here for yummy sushi whenever I am in Steveston. Guaranteed to have great sushi rolls. They also have the best green tea I have had anywhere.

The outdoor patio was pleasant but unfortunately doesn’t offer a view. Free parking in front but not a lot of spots…lots of free street parking but Steveston can get busy. The ingredients were fresh, and dishes were prepared with care and arranged in an appetizing array. The lunch set menus are a fantastic deal, taste great and more than enough food with good variety. Service was friendly and food came out rather quickly. The complimentary tea was very nice with a toasted rice flavour. It’s worthwhile to come here again when I’m visiting Steveston Village.

This restaurant has the best rolls I have ever had! They are unique, sizeable and very delicious. Getting a spot is quite difficult due to the small size of the restaurant and limited parking, there is always a line as soon as it opens! Luckily, there is street parking across the restaurant. Definitely recommend trying this spot, it’s also very close and convenient to the harbour 🙂

Our fave Japanese restaurant in Steveston. Been coming here for a few years now. Kids love it which makes life easier. Not too many places have masago rolls but they have it here at Mega Sushi. Their lunch sets are really good value too. Food is delicious, service is quick and friendly. Wish they are closed to where we live.

Highly recommended restaurant! The food is fresh and of high quality, with every dish carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors are well-balanced, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The staff is polite, attentive, and always ready to assist with recommendations.

The restaurant is small so make reservations. The staff is polite and the dishes were good quality. They serve all kinds of sushis and also hot dishes. Parking on the street and limited. My suggestion is to arrive early.

Visiting Vancouver and this place was recommended, for their Mega Sushi tower. Another dish was served smoking and another with flames.. food quality was fine but the salmon dish was a bit overcooked and dry. Mainly parking on the street with limited 2-3 spots in front of the place. Inside theres room for 30-40 seats, and quite cozy and small inside. If the weather’s right, there’s 4-5 picnic tables outside as well. Nice place to go.

Tempura was the only actually good thing, and it’s hard to mess that up.
Spicy agedashi tofu was more sweet than spicy. “Monkey Brain” was odd but OK.
Miso soup was OK.
Yakisoba and yakiudon were subpar.
California rolls and the Salmon & avocado rolls were OK, though each order is only 6 pieces.
Did the unagi rolls even have eel?
Atlantic salmon teriyaki… pass! Go with Pacific salmon next time somewhere else. Huge difference in taste.
Pork katsu was dry and overcooked and took over 30 minutes to arrive after the appetizers (almost 50 minutes from when it was ordered and we were the only four in the restaurant at that time at 5pm when it re-opened after lunch). I waited 10-15 minutes after my family had all their main meals for the pork katsu. It was burnt and not tasty, and the sauce was way too sweet. It also came with a meh house salad instead of the traditional cabbage it is supposed to be paired with.
Go to a different place to try something more authentic.
The prices were reasonable overall, though.
