Very simple concept with mostly European eats. The turkey schnitzel was surprisingly tender and flavorful, 5/5. The oysters were garlic forward with a pesto like sauce, although pretty decent, they’re pretty small and I consider them quite pricy for the value, 3/5. The crab dip with the toast was rather disappointing, was saltier than I liked, 2/5. The baked pineapple was a highlight to end the meal. The texture was amazing with both crispy and gooey when served warm, 5/5. We would definitely recommend having a reservation in advance. If not, you’ll be on a waitlist for up to 30 minutes to an hour.

Best neighborhood bar worth leaving the neighborhood for. Great a la cart menu with lots of flavor. The clams have the most delicious green sauce and the bread is amazing. The cutlet is a staple. The cheesecake is a favorite. The Negroni is batch made and perfect every time. The people who work here are friendly and kind.

We were excited to check out Meetinghouse given some recognition and a recommendation, but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for us. It was very cute and quaint inside, but that quaint made it tight quarters, dark, and loud. The service was very good and attentive. And the food was reasonably priced but fell short of expectations. The best thing we got was the salad which looked nice but was fairly basic. So not necessarily for us but still might be worth a try for others.

New favourite spot! This place is so epically dialled in but under the radar at the same time. The building or operating feels 100 years old (I believe that’s confirmed by a photograph on the wall) but the design choices are so incredibly thoughtful. You have this clock face logo popping up everywhere. Crazy fresh tile sprinkled everywhere. Transom stained glass above the main entrance. Backyard (seasonally) with an awesome mural and metal gate. Cool booths in back room proper bar upfront. Great batch cocktail on tap ( negroni / old fashioned) food til ten on weekdays and 11 on weekends ? What a great place to post up and feel cozy and welcome.

Went for Sunday roast. Was a little underwhelmed. Mashed potatoes were great, but the rest of the plate felt very “what Americans think Sunday roast is.” Which if it is true, just confirms my suspicions that British food is a presentation nightmare.

The amount of food for what we paid was also kind of insane. It was peas, potatoes, and 3 slices of roast beef. Portion size was perfect, but I shouldn’t be getting perfect portion sizes at a pub.

The other thing I want to say is that I’m only reviewing my experience was Sunday Roast, not anything else. I plan on going again, just avoiding Sunday Roast.

Service was fine, took a little long for our waiter to come out first time. They basically became an afterthought, like they should.

Vibe was nice and the decor makes it feel nice and homey.

As a person who loves clams and roast beef, this menu got me very excited!

The roast beef was a tad dry for my liking but paired nicely with the horseradish and the pickle. We also got the baked clams and it was delicious!! So tender and that garlic butter complimented the dish well! The crab dip was good too but more on the thinner side than what I am used to but the flavor was nice. Very rich and creamy and even though they messed up our order and put two of them in- we still paid our portion so can’t complain!

The service was top tier! They were quick, attentive and very friendly ! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Great for those with children who might need more room outside or more of an intimate vibe inside, they can cater to all. I highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area!

Have been twice now, once for Burger Night and the other for Saturday Steak Frites. Burger Night we sat outside which was lovely and our server was wonderful, they made you feel like family. The burger was great and the mystery wine was fun. The roast beef sandwich is fine but lacking a bit for me but others at my table loved it so it may just be personal preference. I loved the vibes so much I went for my birthday recently for their steak frites. Service was again great, cocktails/beer wonderful. The clams and crab dip are 10/10. Our steak frites came with a garlic butter sauce and a hunk of bleu cheese (drool). The frites were great but the steak was a bit disappointing. It was a ribeye and tender but really thin and quite small. There was no price on the menu and I did not see the bill but I would hope the price reflected the size of the steak. Overall always a great experience and I love the neighborhood feel. I will be back for mussel night!

Come here! Great food, great service, great atmosphere AND great prices! We liked everything we had. For apps we had salad and clams. Both were good, but i really like the salad. Simple but tasty. Then we had the Thursday cheeseburger, turkey cutlets and fries. Get all three! I also put some salad on the cutlets to make it like a milanese. And that worked! Good beers, mostly around $6. $11 cocktails. This is what a restaurant is supposed to be. Comfortable and great food at great prices. You don’t find that too often anymore. I’ll be back!! Oh, and the bread and butter is awesome too!

Thursdays are for cheeseburgers! We found this place on tik tok and it did not disappoint! We shared the gem salad which was crazy good, eaten with your fingers. Then we shared the baked clams, turkey cutlets and of course the cheeseburger. Each of these were outstanding. An order of fries were excellent and the bread and butter scrumptious! The homemade beer options were also great. I had the pale one. Well, I had 2. It’s a little loud in there but it’s a bar so oh well. I’ll be back for sure! I hear Monday’s are for spaghetti and meatballs! Can’t wait to try it!

Meetinghouse is a welcoming neighborhood bar that is perfect for meeting friends after work or enjoying a weekend outing. Located in Old Kensington, it is within walking distance of several breweries, making it an ideal stop for a quick bite after having a few pints.

On a Saturday visit, my party of four sat outside on their comfortable patio and had excellent service. The inside was busy, but it was still possible to get a table with only a short wait. The menu is small yet well rounded for a casual lunch. We tried the pesto clams, their famous roast beef sandwich, and the turkey club. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared.

Meetinghouse also offers a thoughtful beer and cocktail selection, each pairing nicely with our food and the relaxed patio atmosphere. Overall, it is a spot worth adding to your list if you are spending time in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.
