If you love old historic cafes that have nothing in common with the common franchise or chain store then this is the place for you.

This place is rich in history and hasn’t change much when I visited for their famous burger over ten years ago. I kinda like that the restaurant maintained its rustic feel but leaking ceiling could have been fixed.

Came here back on 06 when I was stationed at Sill. Came back 17 years later, and the food tasted the same. My waitress was awesome. 110% recommended. Bring cash. ATM is on-site

I was told you have to try a Meers Burger at least once, so I did. I had the seismic burger and I was definitely stuffed afterwards. The size of the burger was comparable to an entire pie. The burger was good but sides are not included. I definitely have a problem with this when the sides aren’t worth the price. The highlight of my meal was the warm cobbler with ice cream. I loved the charm and atmosphere of this restaurant but it is in desperate need of a good cleaning. I could imagine in its prime, this place was incredible. Service was great. I liked my waitress and the food came out quick. Alert: this restaurant is cash only, but luckily they have an ATM on site.

It has been way to long since I had a Meers Burger. I ate entirely too much food, but it was worth it. The fried okra is delicious and crispy. And the cobbler is a must. This historic location never lets me down!

I visited Meers for the first time this past weekend and it was an interesting experience. The food was good and the waitress was very kind , they were very busy at 3pm on Sunday and while you wait you are standing in a line in a pretty compacted area. I thought it was interesting also because of how old the restaurant is , over 100 yrs old and also decorated with many old license plates and other stuff that was more on the unique side. Would I eat there again ? Yes , but only it were maybe a 10 min wait vs an hr long wait. Meers is also cash only , they dont offer to do seperate checks but they do have an atm in the restaurant. The experience was still a neat one .

Neat little place I found on accident. I didn’t realize the burger would be a thin burger, and those aren’t my favorite. The location is really cool, and I like that it is in a historical building. I think the front lobby room could use some cleaning.

I’ve been here a couple times when visiting the nearby wildlife refuge. The restaurant has a very rustic ambiance and a long history of serving wonderful hamburgers. Both visits I hot the Meers cheeseburger and it was cooked to a perfect medium well. I don’t believe you can specify doneness so keep that in mind if you prefer less well done. Portion sizes are fair for sides and the burgers can be ordered 2oz, 4oz, 8oz, or 16oz so there is something for everyone.

I had been to this restaurant many years ago and finally was able to return and enjoy the food here yet again. I was, however, disappointed to find that they are not the same as I remembered. When I visited previously, they had the unique experience in which you were able to cut your own steak from the larger piece and you payed for it by the pound! They had a display case with meats for sale etc. now, it is basically the restaurant and they mostly serve burgers of one form or another with a few other items.

Meers Store and Restaurant is like taking a step back in time for a good old-fashioned burger experience. We had the 8 ounce burgers, and I had fries while my husband had potato wedges. My sister and her husband ordered 8 ounce burgers with fried okra and onion rings. We all absolutely enjoyed our lunch and will 100% cone back. Be sure and bring cash because they do not accept cards. Although I think there’s an ATM machine available.
