We came in for a mochinut but were surprised to see that they had taiyaki, as well! The mochi donuts were good and had that classic springiness. Our favorite was the Churro flavor! It honestly didn’t need any frosting although those were good, too–not overly sweet, thankfully. The taiyaki is what really shined in my eyes. It had the same bounce as the mochinuts on the inside, but the outside was perfectly crispy! I had the ube custard in mine. So, so good! I’m looking forward to trying the soft-serve when it gets a bit warmer. The girl at the counter was awesome! Super welcoming and helpful even though she was busy. I also love that she gave us a wait estimate for items that needed to be made fresh. They were also having a buy 6, get 3 free deal when we were in. This place would be great for someone with a gluten-allergy as mochi is made from rice flour but I would call to verify that nothing else is added to the batter.

Really lovely place to hang out with friends! Staffs are super friendly and the mochi donuts are as tasty as they look pretty! They were also testing for matcha milk tea day so we get to sample some before it goes on the menu! Really love the rotating donut flavor, my favorite so far has been the creme brulee (this visit), and the ube/matcha/churro flavor in previous visits!

Mee Mochi Donuts & Soft Serve is incredible! The donuts taste so unique — nothing like regular American donuts. They’re light, chewy, perfectly sweet, and honestly addictive. The shop is clean, the staff is friendly, and everything feels fresh and fun. If you want a treat that’s different in the best way, this place is a must-try. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As someone who doesn’t eat sweets, these are super light!! Does not give me a stomachache from the sugar which I’m so thankful for.
The mochi dog’s are super good! Crispy and light. The one I will always get is the potato dog— half moz half beef sausage! Super yummy!
The taiyaki has a good amount of filling, perfect balance between the breading and filling which a lot of places normally will put too much or too little. I got the red bean which is a classic, don’t knock it until you try it because beans sound weird but it’s delicious! The cheddar I was VERY skeptical about but holy cow was it the BEST ever!! I couldn’t believe how similar to a grill cheese it was but better!! The Nutella was delicious too. Has chocolate pieces it seemed like throughout the filling but a great go to!
The donuts? You have to try it all to see what you love!
Personal fav for donuts: funnel cake, matcha, ube, and the coco brownie!
Their thai tea is DYE FREE!!! Try it!! Super delic and not super sweet. It’s not bitter either!

We had a great experience here! Got taiyaki and mochi doughnuts and all were absolutely delicious. They gave us little samples of soft serve while we were waiting for our taiyaki—also delicious! The mochi hot dogs also looked very interesting, definitely want to try. We will absolutely be back soon. Love that there is a sweet little spot like this where you can get house made taiyaki in Waukee of all places! 🙂

Mee Mochi is a cute dessert spot known for its soft, chewy mochi and creative flavors
Their corndogs are crispy outside, soft inside, and have a good cheese pull. Freshly fried and tasty, especially with sauce on top. The shop has a clean, bright vibe and friendly service

Food is great, the donuts are reminiscent in taste to eclairs if you are nervous about the idea of “mochi” donuts; not overly sweet, good flavors, and fun to share since you can separate the little mochi balls like donut holes. The taiyaki are made fresh and crispy, I didn’t get the ice cream, but my friend did (ube), and she loved it.
However, the two young women working the counter were highly unprofessional, and poorly handled food. They were gossiping about something the whole time, and when I received my bag of taiyaki, they had jammed them in the paper bag so that the fish had crumpled at the bottom, and the red bean filling had exploded out.
I understand not being super bubbly or peppy when you have to talk to a ton of people all day, but they were also generally really unfriendly. I felt like I was somehow inconveniencing them, and the shop was not even remotely busy on a Thursday afternoon.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place deserves it. I’ve been twice and both times the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful. They’ll explain the different menu items and flavors and let you sample each ice cream. If you’re looking for some new and unique flavors this place should be on your list. I’ve had the donuts, the soft serve, and the taiyaki: all great; and plan on trying their K-dogs soon.

Excellent and so excited they’re finally open!!!! I got the ice cream with taiyaki, and my boyfriend got the pack of 3 taiyaki. The red bean one is delicious (for those who have never had red bean filling, it’s sweet), and the cream one is also really really good! We can’t wait to come back and try the donuts and other goodies ❤️
