Reviews
The food is delicious (although a tad pricy), the service is highly attentive and top notch, and the atmosphere is nice and clean.
We went on a Wednesday night and it was not that busy. The decor is nice and the bathrooms are clean.
The small plates all look so good, but we went with the brussel sprouts and feta which we would absolutely order again. The former better than the latter in my opinion.
The salmon entree was perfect and has we only ordered these 3 dishes, we would’ve been completely satiated.
Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs however and we got the vegan paella as well, which we mostly ended up taking home.
This place is a great spot for a date night, night out with friends, or other upscale but not too fancy dinner.
Great food and truly stand out service.
The Good:
* Convenient Parking: A hassle-free parking lot makes getting there easy.
* Decent Service: Expect competent and attentive service.
* Visually Appealing Dishes: The food is presented beautifully, adding to the dining experience.
* Balanced Flavors: A great option for those who might find some Mediterranean food overwhelming, particularly the cheeses. The taste is good without being too intense.
* Reasonable Prices: You can enjoy a good meal here without breaking the bank.
The Verdict:
Mediterrano offers a pleasant and accessible introduction to Mediterranean cuisine. It hits the sweet spot with good flavors, attractive presentation, and reasonable prices, all while being conveniently located with easy parking. Definitely worth checking out!
We started with bread service and lamb lollipops. This was the only Mediterranean place I’ve been to where bread was not an automatic starter, but it’s cheap enough that it is fine. The taramasalata that came with bread service was very good (if you like fish & olives). The lamb lollipops were juicy and tender.
For mains, we ordered Gnocchi Asiago and Taleggio Pappardelle. both dishes were in perfect portions. The Gnocchi Asiago was a colorful and summery dish. The gnocchi itself was a bit doughy, the kind that finds itself easily sticking to teeth. However this was made up for by the mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and basil pesto. The Taleggio Pappardelle hit all the right spots; creamy, savory, delicious.
I was a bit turned-off by having three different servers despite the restaurant being almost empty. Also, the last of whom thought it appropriate to sit down next to me while I signed the check. This made both me and my wife somewhat uncomfortable. Not a classy move. We’ll be sticking with Paesano for Mediterranean food instead.
