Food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was fabulous. It was disturbed a bit by a guest who was being unkind to one of the servers, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. My husband and I were enthusiastically discussing how this would be our new place because despite the amazing ambiance, the restaurant had decent prices. The lunch prices of our meals according to the menu were $16.50 and $18.50. Then we received the bill and were charged over $24 for each dish despite the lunch prices on the menu provided. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon, but it appears we were charged dinner prices. As we were rushing to catch a movie, we didn’t have time to get the bill corrected, but it has made us think twice about returning. Seemed a bit shady.

Went here after a dear friend from Italy recommended it. Now if an Italian from Italy tells me to go I’m going! He was right! Everything was perfect! Service was tip top! Bar cocktails were very good. We got the meatball appetizer and a special that was tomatoes with Burrata mozzarella and sliced avocados. My daughter said they were the best meatballs she ever had. I was a little taken aback because that meant she liked them more than mine! I had the squid ink spaghetti with shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. It was incredible! I’d definitely get it again! My daughter had the spaghetti carbonara and that too was outstanding. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert which I regretted. Especially when I was told they had a chocolate Napoleon! Next time.

Wow was this place packed! It’s huge inside and goes back pretty fair, has a patio for outdoor seating, and a good sized bar. Every seat was taken. Good for them…..not so good for us.

Very nice restaurant with attentive staff and very flavorful food. The bread is delicious and baked in house. The pizza is great, made in a proper stone oven and with Italian flour. Make sure you make room to eat a lot, it will be worth it!

Right on Main Street in downtown Sarasota, this restaurant , the Mediterraneo, is a above average spot to dine. I tried a Greek salad with feta cheese and a light olive oil and lemon dressing for an appetizer, followed by a pasta dish with shredded sausage and broccoli Rabe in a similar dressing as the salad. Both were incredibly good. Good meal and atmosphere.
