I eat here about once a season on the recommendation of several of my clients. It’s a tidy, no frills lunch with counter service that would fit into the movie “Moonstruck.”
Often, I browse the grocery section and occasional find some uniquely ethnic tea or chips or canned thingy that I try. Also, they have a selection of prepared foods and Greek products to take out in a cooler.
Today, I had the Kafta plate. The sides were fairly unremarkable but the Kafta was amazing. It was juicy, perfectly seasoned and fresh off the grill. The main dishes are what my clients rave about and I’d agree. However, several of my clients love the hummus.
They have a wide variety of pastries, sides (grape leaves) , fresh sauces/dips (hummus, tahini, garlic ) to shop from. Parking is convenient.
We ended up getting the plates of chicken shawarma & kabob, and falafel sandwich. Keep in mind, this was at their closing time. They close at 4 on Sunday. The food lacked flavor and the meat was a bit dry. Hummus was fresh and tasted good. The pita was thin and pretty fresh. This place seems much more authentic than most but we were not a fan of the food. We ended up buying a pack of whole wheat pita breads.
It seems like a family business and the staff was nice. The place was fairly clean and tidy.
