Tough one to rate. Met the owner a couple of days ago and she was delightful. Today the staff, including the on duty manager, were condescending. I asked what I thought was a fair question. Why a cake, made up of 8 slices at $7 per slice, is selling for $65 as a whole, $9 more. The manager said, “You just want to get the price you want.” Wow! I was being polite but persistent. So much for the customer is always right. I wasn’t trying to get a discount but an understanding of why the price difference. I bought the whole cake at their price but left feeling as an unvalued customer.

Delicious avocado toast with poached egg, iced latte and peach cupcake! Fun sitting at the window along sidewalk. Quaint atmosphere and friendly staff. We got our food nice & quick too!

This place would be right at home in San Francisco. Obviously commanding high prices for the area, they’re using and casually selling incredibly high quality and locally focused foods and ingredients galore here. The menu changes and is focused on a smaller amount of offerings to enable higher quality throughout that selection. That’s perfect. Nobody needs 50 options for breakfast.
Recommend any sandwich with avocado or their myriad drinks.
Service is slower because everything is made by hand, but don’t let this be a detractor at all. We waited maybe 8-9 minutes. Totally acceptable.
Such a treat to see this pop into existence here, a well deserved taste of sustainable dining and shopping. From wines to pastas to sauces, cheeses… it’s like the fanciest little parts of a grocery store conveniently located on the main sewickley drag. Love it!

The staff was really prompt and helpful and nice! All the food was so so delicious. The pricing was a little bit high but you really do get what you pay for and the portions of the quiche that I got today were huge! And it came with a small salad With a really fresh tasting dressing. We also got the blueberry oat bar and the sprinkle cupcake. They were running a deal on a cheaper one price on the pastries! They also have a pretty decent size shop full of sauces bread and cheeses and wine. They also have pizza it was really delicious!

I loved the food here but unfortunately it looked like this small town isn’t used to having an ethnically diverse table too often since my group kept getting stared the entire time we dined. This is 2024, people!!!
I would not recommend if this sort of thing makes you uncomfortable
Edit: I appreciate the owner reaching out and inquiring, it does show he cares. For the record, it was the other patrons staring and making us feel uncomfortable, not the staff.

had a wonderful time at Mediterra Cafe. We went for dinner and tried their peach salad, fish dish, and lamb chops. Definitely pick up a few pastries before you leave! The blueberry muffins are my favorite.

Let me start with saying that I truly love this cafe so much. The food is phenomenal & the atmosphere is perfect; so cozy and cute. I’ve been coming here for years, as we’re from Ohio but my now husband lived in Pitt a few years back so I’d visit often. A couple of years ago, I came back to go wedding dress shopping in Pitt with my mom & of course had to stop in for a cereal milk latte & pastries to celebrate! Let’s just say, whenever we’re in the area, we stop in. However, I was over a few days ago and stopped in with my baby, excited to have a coffee date with her at a place that feels nostalgic & meaningful to me and the barista at the bar accidentally made my coffee incorrectly. I’m not sure where the miscommunication happened, if it was with the girl who took my order or if she misread the order (we’re all human and I I totally get it, it’s just a coffee after all so seriously it was not a big deal!). I did however, pay a little over $7 for my latte and I did want it to be iced as I had requested (it was made hot, so very politely I asked if she could either pour it over ice or remake it). She was extremely annoyed and gave me a blank stare upon me asking then I remarked “if you don’t mind, I’m so sorry, a cup of ice is okay!” And she just said “mhhmm” and wouldn’t make eye contact with me as she began remaking it. She also didn’t call out that it was done, as I had walked away because her reaction made me uncomfortable. Just leaving this review to bring light to an unfortunate experience that I had. As I said I love the cafe itself and the food but she was just not kind at all, I hope y’all can do better because I do love coming here when I get the chance and have recommended this spot to so many friends that travel over for games, shopping, etc. Exceptional, kind service goes a long way!

No matter if you go to Sewickley or their newest location in Mt Lebanon Mediterra cafe serves quality food with their renown artisan breads. Online advance ordering is available.
You can order for both dine in or take out. Breakfast served until 1 pm and their French toast is literally worth a visit alone! They serve both sandwiches, salads, and pastries and even have a refrigerator for grab and go items. Gluten free and vegetarian options available.
Enjoyed the eggplant sandwich with cheese paired with a cup of lentil soup that had chick peas and beets in a turkey broth. So good! Quality groceries are for sale from some of the finest vendors. Can be pricey but that’s what you are paying for.
They also sell their artisan breads by loaf or in rounds. Friendly and helpful customer service make you feel at home.

Great! Everything was super fresh, the place was very busy but it was fast. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table and then a few more for the food. The salad, pizza and breakfast sandwiches were all delicious.
