If you’re craving authentic Indonesian flavors or looking to stock up on hard-to-find ingredients, Medan Kitchen Indonesian Food and Groceries is the place to go! While the prices may be a bit on the higher side, the quality and variety you get in return make it totally worth it.

One of the standout features of Medan Kitchen is the sheer vastness of their selection. From spices and snacks to fresh ingredients and ready-made meals, you’ll find every type of Indonesian food imaginable. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything Indonesian, and the best part is that you don’t have to go hunting through multiple stores to find that elusive sambal or rendang spice mix.

The quality of the products is also top-notch—whether you’re picking up fresh produce or packaged goods, everything is always fresh and authentic. What really makes this place a go-to is that feeling of being immersed in Indonesian food culture as soon as you walk through the door.

Sure, the prices may lean towards the higher end, but you’re paying for premium quality and the convenience of having access to a diverse selection of ingredients that you simply won’t find anywhere else. Plus, it’s not just groceries! There’s a selection of ready-to-eat meals that are perfect for when you’re craving something comforting but don’t have time to cook.

If you’re serious about cooking Indonesian food at home or just want to indulge in a taste of Indonesia, Medan Kitchen is highly recommended. With so many delicious options, you’ll definitely find something that makes your taste buds dance! You may even have a hard time deciding what to buy because the choices are that extensive.

Definitely worth a visit!

Amazing Indonesian restaurant with prepackaged meals for carry out (they have a microwave to warm up) and a full selection of Indonesian groceries. Some of the dishes are served street style, wrapped in banana leaf. They have utensils and plates and a little seating area outside. The dishes are made by a chef onsite. Everything is fresh and delicious.

The place offers a wide variety of freshly cookef foods, cakes and snacks from Indonesia. People can enjoy their foods outdoor after paying. However, the place feels somewhat crowded and disorganized, and certain items are overpriced.

This place is a grocery store selling authentic Indonesian food, snacks, and drinks. They have prepackaged meals that can be taken to go or enjoyed there. They have microwaves and utensils as well as some outdoor seating. The food is absolutely amazing, so delicious and authentic. Indonesian food is packed with flavor and combines lots of different ingredients. The staff are super friendly and generous. They helped us heat up the food and gave lots of great suggestions. It is super busy and crowded for good reason.

I’m so happy we found this place! The store is much bigger in person and offers way more goods than I expected. I originally came in searching for martabak and sambal matah, both of which they had, but ended up finding so much more. They even carry candlenut (and a wide variety of other nuts), which is a hard-to-find essential for our cooking at home.

We were really impressed and will definitely be back when we need to restock! We also tried their ready-made food, especially the pisang goreng (fried banana), which was absolutely delicious. I brought home some ayam suir as well, and it was just as flavorful.

We picked up pandan extract and a bunch of jajanan (snacks) too. This place is full of great finds for anyone looking for authentic Indonesian ingredients or ready-to-eat food made with care.

If each food item we tried and enjoyed had its own star, I’d need an extra page to list them all. Five stars are clearly not enough to describe the incredible food they serve. We’ve been loyal customers since the day they opened, and we always make sure to stop by when we visit Southern California (bye, Disneyland!).

The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Kids get to choose small trinkets to keep them occupied while the adults indulge in their shopping spree.

If you’re short on time or planning to arrive late, don’t hesitate to reach out to them and place your order online. They’ll reserve it for you, ensuring you don’t miss out on this culinary delight. But if you have plenty of time, go shopping and indulge in the treats they offer. You’ll leave this place with an empty stomach, no doubt!

The outdoor seating area is always bustling, so make sure to arrive early to secure a spot.

This is the most authentic Indonesian food in the san Gabriel valley. For the last 5 years I come at least once a month after work around 4pm. The selection sometimes is limited. Today I went at 11am, they have full line of selection.
If you want more selection of fresh made food be sure you go early.
One option is to get something for lunch, there are outside tables and chairs available for picnic style eating.
See the pictures of food selection. I just like everything they make.
