10 out of 10! I’ve been wanting to try it out foreverrrrrr!! So glad I finally made it in! Can’t wait to come back! Can’t wait to bring my kids! I had the taco salad with beef FIRE My boo thang had the breakfast burger it was GREAT! Fries was HOTTTTT! Everything was fresh! I wish I had taken a picture of my salad before I poked my spoon in Exceptional service!! Convenient location! Ample parking!

We tried this place this morning and greeted with friendly staff! We ordered omelet with meats, it was big and full of meat very Flavorful!! I got the eggs,potatoes and bacon plate with biscuits n gravy and side of waffle, loved the potatoes! Everything tasted great and ton of flavor! Biscuit and gravy was ok. Waffle was great! But all in all 10/10!! Definitely will go back again and will try their lunch!!

Owner, Chef Tia Johnson & staff provided exemplary service beyond imagination. Not only was the cuisine extremely delightful to the palate; the wait was short and the detail in accordance to drink refills(including water) was superb. I even ordered (2)to go meals for my wife & I to have for later. The thought of departing from Chef’s Soul-food cooking got the best of me . My wife & I promptly returned….the very next day!!! A vast assortment of delicious foods to choose. I’m hooked

Hands down the best Philly omlettes in town.
When my wife asks if I want to go out for breakfast, there isn’t even a discussion. She’s asking if I want to go to Mechanicsville (unless they’re closed, of course), and the answer is always yes.
My only complaint is that they are not open on weekends, which is when we most commonly have family or friends over, so I can’t show off the best omlettes in town to those visiting.
That being said, I do applaud Tia for setting boundaries. As a former chef, I know well how hard the restaurant business can be on your mental well-being as well as your body (hence why I’m a ‘former’ chef).
Long story short: Fantastic place for breakfast. Haven’t sampled much of the lunch and dinner menu, but the other customers all rave about Tia’s cooking, and from my personal experience, I have no reason to doubt them.
Side note: Mechanicsville is an old-style diner with around 7 tables and a long counter with stools. Seating is very limited.

After debating what we wanted for breakfast, my husband and I wanted to try this restaurant that we had heard great things about for the last few weeks. We ordered western omelets and fried potatoes! They were seasoned to perfection. We’ll definitely order again….. and again! Great food and service!!!!

We stopped in for breakfast. Food was delicious. Everything was cooked correct to our order and all of it was actually served hot to the table. Perfectly timed by the chef and wait staff. Everybody was very attentive and welcoming. The home potatoes were seasoned incredibly. Can’t wait to return.

Be sure to check out the daily special. You just might be surprised. These recipes havd to have been passed down from generation to generation. You won’t find food like that anywhere else!
Had the Honey Bun Cake. I had no idea what I was missing out on. It came out hot. A scoop of ice cream would have been spectacular.
