Very disappointed ☹️ I googled for COLOMBIAN Bakery and Mecatos popped up! We came ready to eat a good Colombian breakfast but unfortunately this is NOT what Colombian bakery looks like! The employee didn’t know what a Colombian calentado was 🙁 I was so shocked when I found out that this business is just a Venezuela bakery and they don’t sell anything Colombian people traditionally eat for breakfast! And on top of that they are very expensive!!!! Please be more transparent with your customers and please don’t advertise your bakery as Colombian because you are not! You guys wasted my time!!! I’m not recommend this business to Colombians cuz they don’t have what Colombians eats for breakfast: they don’t have Breakfast calentado de arroz, beans, pericos and steak, they don’t have arepas con queso, they don’t have chorizos, they don’t have rellenas , they don’t have papas rellenas, they don’t have a traditional breakfast menu for Colombian customers. Shame on you!!!! Advertisement as Colombian bakery and you don’t have nothing Colombian there!!!! Please change your profile to aVENEZUELAN Bakery because that’s exactly what you guys are! Don’t keep fooling Colombians with your fake Colombian bakery because you are not!!!!!

In the middle of all the crazy and bougie spots in Downtown Orlando, Mecatos stands out as a humble gem serving one of the best breakfasts around. Their sandwiches are fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced — and the coffee? Smooth, rich, and made with care. A cozy, unpretentious place that instantly feels like home. Highly recommended for a calm start to your day.

I love the food here and got a to-go order of the beef cachapa, I get in my car to eat on the way home from Orlando and there’s no beef at all. Very sad.

I had a lot of time before I begin my shift and this was the closest place that was open! Absolutely love how they made my tea with steam milk and if you ever get the chance, you have gotta try those Leche filled pastries… I also got myself a stuffed Arepa… the breakfast one and they were incredible

Second time that I find a hair on my food
First time was inside the empanada a pretty size black hair
This hair on the sauce

Drive through took too long
Could have been more friendly since I waited for ten minutes for one empanada and one pandebono

One of my favorites downtown! LOVED the empanadas! They are less than $3, but they are tiny (see photo). Espresso was bitter, but I really enjoyed the coffee. They have TONS of sweets, baked goods, breads, areapas, burgers, fries, etc.. this truly is a Latino/Colombian type vibe. The decor is nice, the music is good and the service was great. This definitely makes the top of my list for coffee places in orlando – specifically because it’s got the latin america vibe that is so fun, delicious, and welcoming. I spent $10 on a chicken empanada, small coffee and single Espresso. I’ll be back for sure!

Affordable Colombian food with empanadas, arepas, Columbian burger, pastries, and more. We came in for a late lunch/early dinner and the restaurant seemed to be fully staffed. We were greeted immediately from the cashier. You order at the counter and they bring out your food. When I asked about the difference of two similar cakes, she said explained it. She was friendly and polite. Our food came out quickly. The empanadas had a thick pastry and were crispy. The chicken pastry was such a delicious entree that just kind of oozed comfort food. The Hawaiian empanada could be good if the taste was consistent all the way through. My first couple of bites were more spiced and didn’t have the pineapple and sweet taste that the rest of the empanada had. The chorizo was a little dry. The chocolate cannoli was ok. It as a lighter chocolate flavor. The coconut cake with caramel was a good balanced flavor. The dulce de leche cake was light. My only ask for improvement is for sturdier plastic utensils. With the dense chorizo and coconut cake, the utensils bent and couldn’t effectively pick up or cut the bites of food. There is a menu with food without gluten on the counter but they do warn that they prepare food without gluten gluten and can’t guarantee that gluten doesn’t get into “gluten free food”.
