The service was friendly.
The food was great. I got the sandwich that was the daily special, Turkey with Sun Dried tomatoes. They serve breakfast all day & my friend got the Chef’s Breakfast Bowl which looked amazing. She said it was incredible.
The ambiance is way cuter than you’d expect a little place in a strip mall to be.
I’ll definitely add this to my list of local rotations.
We entered at 11:45 am and it was pretty full considering it is a small space. No one greeted us so I went to the cashier to ask if we could get a table and said it would be about a 10 minute wait for a table. We proceeded to place our order at 12 pm with the cashier.
There is no list of who gets the tables. We were told we were next for a table and a couple who walked in 25 minutes after us that was sitting at the bar area saw a table open up and quickly sat down at the table, it that was supposed to be ours so we had to wait more time and they did not ask them to get up. They just simply looked at them and shrugged and proceeded to take their orders ( I didn’t understand this because there was also a family of 3 and another family of 4 after us waiting for a table and they had also ordered like us).
So they offered us the option to be at the bar but it only had two seats and we were a group of 3 and they said they didn’t have another seat which I totally understood due to the busy time. So we decided to wait for a table, we waited a total of 45 minutes for one since 11:45 am. We got seated at 12:35 pm.
And we were still waiting for our food once we sat down… I asked for my cinnamon roll because since it’s something small I figured they would’ve brought it out before the food just like the coffee or drinks, but the employee seemed a bit disturbed that I asked and told me they go in order and the orders were really backed up so it wasn’t possible. I asked if they made it from scratch and that’s why it was going to come out with the rest of the food bc I genuinely didn’t know since it was my first time. She said no we just warm it up.
I asked the owner about it about 10 minutes after since I figured it wouldn’t take long for them to warm it up since the resturant was starting to slow down and the waiters were just talking and standing by the coffee making machines. She told me she would check.
Right after me asking, the food came out it was 12:43 pm. And when the food came we didn’t recieve utensils and still didn’t get the cinnamon roll. So I had to ask for utensils and my cinnamon roll when I saw a worker walk by.
The worker gave us a slight attitude about it.
We also were the only customers that didn’t get complementary water cups like everyone else did when they got their table. So my sister got up to ask for some at the cashier.
I don’t know something seemed off about their service. I wish the service was a bit better considering that this place has a 4.9 review and that the waiters/servers would’ve been honest about the wait time and more attentive to actually providing us the basic restaurant service which includes utensils and the water since their prices are on the higher side, also that there would be some order about the tables, it just seemed a bit unorganized. Overall the lunch food was pretty good.
And about two months ago I had gotten take out for breakfast and I had the same service… no one greeted me nor asked me what they could help in or if I was going to need a table and my take out food didn’t have utensils either.
I recently visited Meating Ground Cafe and was absolutely blown away! The dirty chai latte, was perfectly spiced and had a delightful creaminess. The highlight was definitely the grassfed cheeseburger on a homemade sourdough bun. It was incredibly juicy, fresh and flavorful, cooked to perfection, and paired wonderfully with french fries fried in tallow. Honestly, I can say it was the best burger and fries I have ever had!
If you’re in the area, you must stop in. I can’t recommend it enough! 10/10!
