Very unfortunate to leave a poor review but we truly didn’t have a good experience at this restaurant. We had very high hopes because it came highly recommended. We ordered two sandwiches to go on a late Sunday afternoon. We ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and the Cajun chicken sandwich. The wait was at least 35 minutes – we had time to go to Sweet Cow, wait in their line (always a long line), get ice cream to go, and return to Mead St and the sandwiches were still not ready. When they finally were made, we were shocked that each sandwich was half-sized. All the photos in these Google reviews show two half sides of full sandwich. When asking the cashier, he said only the ahi tuna and the Cajun chicken are served in half portions. Ok – why wasn’t that noted? We definitely felt cheated and these sandwiches are not inexpensive. We took these sandwiches home to eat and they did taste fine however the ahi tuna was cooked too rare. It was difficult to chew through the protein. If you had 30+ minutes to make the sandwiches, at least cook the protein properly?! We still don’t know why the Cajun chicken was such a small portion. We weren’t pleased.

Fantastic little place! Staff and food are amazing. Came here for a Sunday out and we are so glad we did! Loved the sandwiches! Found out their bread comes in fresh everyday! Also that the bakery makes a special baguette for them! How cool is that! Craft sandwiches and delicious hand made alcoholic beverages. It’s an order and sit place, which is easy and convenient. We will absolutely be making another stop in to try something else!

Truly awesome experience every time I come in. Bar staff is some of the best in Denver – welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive, even when it’s busy. Food quality is out of this world, especially the Signature Salad and house seasoned fries. Grateful to have these guys in the neighborhood!

We were at the farmers market Sunday morning & stopped in for lunch— super cute place with a lot of choices on the menu! I opted for the 6th Ave Sandwhich & oh my goodness was it so delicious. Friendly staff & they have a water container at the front so it’s easily accessible.

Mead St. has the feel of a neighborhood spot. Which in past incarnations, it was! But as the neighborhood changed, so did Mead St. and yet it’s found a way to stay relevant despite the change. In its current version, you have the benefit of a fantastic Italian deli which is reminiscent of its northside roots while having a full blown bar from craft beers (of course, it’s the “highlands”) to cocktails. While still keeping it real with an excellent well selection. At the end of the day, put Mead St. up there as one of Denver’s best delis. Go-to’s include the Caroll Gardens, Meatball, and French Dip sandwiches.
