M&D is the best food in Gainesville, and honeslty in the state of Florida. Generous portions of delicious food are always given. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve met in Gainesville and genuinely care about their customers. I will always make time in my week to pay them a visit, both for their food and kindness!

WOW, WOW, WOW… AMAZING FOOD!!
I decided to try this place today and it was well worth it! They weren’t located at the cricket and moved to the gas station down the road. I order the okra soup with chicken and fufu and it was DELICIOUS. It tastes authentic and the food was ready quick. The lady working there was so nice and welcoming, she gave us samples to try the soups. For the price of $16, you get two servings worth. Amazing food, amazing service, I will DEFINITELY be back!!!

The Egusi Soup was AMAZING! Please see my other review as the POWWH REVO. But I was very disappointed when I tried their Ogbono soup and it was thin and watery. I brought it back, they said that’s how it’s made. At least, they kindly returned my money. Why would they give me Ogbono with no Ogbono in it?
Ai said: Thin, watery ogbono soup is generally considered a culinary mistake, as the soup is characterized by its thick, slimy, and viscous texture, similar to okra soup. It is a Nigerian draw soup made from ground African bush mango seeds.

The egusi soup that I had there this time was mouthwatering savory goodness! The earthy warmth of the flavors reminded me of soups my grandmother made who was a Mali, Nigerian and Tutsi descendant. My husband who lived in Jamaica many years also enjoyed it. Just superb, much better than our first time trying it. This experience was stellar.

One of the most unique and best food spots in Gainesville. They are very generous and you’ll definitely have leftovers, which is the best because it was so good. Highly recommend the Egusi soup and chicken jollof rice

Really enjoyed their food. The honey suya wings are incredible, and the Egusi soup(stew?) And okra soup were delicious. The wings come with rice, which I declined. The super nice lady at the windows looked at me kinda odd when I said I didn’t want rice(carbs). So I asked, “is it deliciously spiced West African rice?” Anyway, it was delicious, so don’t skip the Jollof rice! The flavors and spices are so spot on, in everything we tried! 5 stars!!!
