Absolutely delicious — 5 stars, best of the best BBQ! My visit to McMillian’s World Famous Bar-B-Q was everything you hope for when you’re craving authentic Texas barbecue. The meats were perfectly smoked, tender, and bursting with bold, savory flavor that only comes from true pitmaster tradition.
From the first bite to the last, it was clear why this place has earned its legendary reputation. If you’re looking for world-class Texas BBQ, McMillian’s is a must-stop destination.

This needs to be on DDD! Visit while you still can. Me. McMillan has cooked at the White House for the Obamas and he’s won tons of cooking contests. I’ve had brisket and ribs all over Texas, from the Rio Grande Valley to Dallas to Denton to Tyler to Nacogdoches to Bryan to Houston to Dripping Springs to Wimberly to El Paso to Kerrville to Fredericksburg to New Braunfels to Seguin to Austin to San Antonio to Luling to Lockhart, and I’m telling you, this brisket and these pork ribs are road-trip worthy! Bread and pickles and all the sides. Grape freaking soda! Grape soda, y’all! Grape! Sweet tea. Sauce.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Old school vibes with some instagram worthy food!
Super friendly staff. Mr. McMillan pretty much treats you like family. Bring yourself because the meat’s already been brung!

Ordered sliced brisket sandwich, side of potato salad and beans and a rib platter with the same sides w/ two teas and came out paying $68????? Didn’t realize until my stepdad got in the truck…this was after the fact that I got burnt ends which were salty…that was tolerable enough but what really sealed it for me not coming back was how mean the owner was to the waitress. She’s nervous at work which is crazy. Do better.

Saw other reviews on Google and decided to take a little road trip and try them out. Blown away by how good the food was. Ribs, sausage, and potato salad were all amazing.
Ask for some glue and you can sick your own dollar bill on the wall.

Amazing. The food is excellent. My husband had the ribs plate. He said they were fall off the bone tender. He couldn’t remember the last time he had ribs that good that weren’t from his own smoker. I had the brisket and sausage plate. Wow. Moist, tender and awesome. The potato salad was so good, we bought some to take home. Stacy was a real sweetheart and was a delight to chat with. Well worth the short drive. This is our new go to for bbq.

They say the best BBQ is found in the unlikeliest of places. McMillans is exactly what they were talking about. Never thought I’d have a reason to go to Fannin, Texas, but when I was visiting Victoria, a friend said it was worth the drive. Boy howdy was it ever!
I walked in wearing a “Kansas City Barbecue Capital of the World” t shirt (yes I love my hometown BBQ). But after having a slice of McMillan’s juicy brisket, I felt compelled to burn my shirt! His burnt ends were the perfect blend of crispy and fatty. So so good. I also enjoyed dribbling a little of their thick sweet sauce on my meal – not that it needed it!
It’s a small joint. And yes “joint” is the right word for this restaurant. It’s quaint and homey and patrons can even eat in the outdoor area surrounded by the old smokers. Super cool!
Meeting Louis McMillan was a special treat. He’s a man who loves making barbecue and he wore his passion on his sleeve.
If you’re a lover of barbecue, add this to your bucket list. Tell Louis that guy from Kansas City sent ya.

OMG!!!! A complete accident finding this place but Sooo glad we did. This is the Best mouth watering BBQ EVER! We had the brisket plate, the sausage plate and (The Beast) a double decker briset/sausage BBQ sandwich. It was all amazing and wouldn’t expect anything different from a place that’s been open since 1974, and catered to 3 presidents. The McMillans are great down to earth folks, who love Texas. If you’re ever in the area, you really need to stop in and say hi. Don’t forget to get some food, lol. It’s worth the drive I promise.
