Wow!! I came in & was greeted by Sarah who took care of us like we were family. She made delicious cocktails & took into consideration our flavor profile preferences. I loved her bubbly energy, can’t wait to go back. She really went above & beyond for us.

We love McMenamins Kalama overall, but the Cove and Ahles are by far our favorite bars in the complex. The Cove always has friendly, fun bartenders and the drinks are fabulous. My husband orders off the cocktail menu and I pretty much always get a Ketel grapefruit – but only because the grapefruit juice is fresh squeezed. So delicious! We don’t eat every time we’re here, but when we do, we’re not disappointed. Our favorite thing about the Cove, though, is the amazing river view, with the option to sit outdoors (with toasty fire tables when it’s nippy) or inside (a very cozy little space) Pop in – you’ll love it!

New discovery as part of the McMenamins Passport fun and this place was a blast! Pinball machines, pool tables, secret/hidden room, and cool art! Amryn (server/barkeep) was fantastic–so friendly, all personality and loyal Seahawks fan sporting first BoBo jersey ever made. Forever memories with friends–thank you! Highly recommend

It was closed when I walked there from along the river. The outside looks good, and it has a great view of the river. There seems to be plenty of parking spaces and they open at 1500.

Stopped for an amazing lunch at the Mcmenamins Kalama cove bar.
Sitting just above the river under a covered patio,cool breeze, watching boats cruise by and seaplanes touch and go.
They have a good amount of seating indoors and out. Pinball, shuffleboard, pool, darts, event room, bathrooms, bar and kitchen.
Don’t let the menue fool you. We ordered the rice bowl and nachos.. beware you will be sad because you won’t be able to finish the plate.
Sooo good.
I had a non alcoholic beverage which had a ginger beer in the mix. It was surprisingly good .
Stop here if you want to eat good food with a view for the same price as going to a fast food joint.
Dont forget to take a walk along the marina and the beach. The American West paddle boat was at the dock this time.

This bar is so close to a road where cars go fast! Don’t take a rable by the road. Quiet otherwise. Less patronized because it’s about a 10-minute walk from the lodge.
